Well well, another DC25 that had Issues. 1. Broken switch. 2. Loss of suction because of filter. 3. Brushroll clogged. 4. Wand clogged with no cap. Good work, you fixed it! Hope to see with comes next.
Great video, I pulled the switch plate from my DC25 to check for a failed switches, the buttons and springs came out, I did a still during reassembly in this video to put them back in place, I bought my vac from a thrift shop for 40 dollars the head motor wasn't working, I found that moisture caused one of the brushes in the head motor to hang up from corrosion and rust, I removed the motor and used contact cleaner to loosen the motor brushes, Then used circuit board cleaner to remove oil residue from the motor and blew the motor out with low air pressure, Reinstalled the motor my vac works like a new one.

Thank you for this video!! My power switch needs to be replaced but the entire vacuum needs to be cleaned and checked for various clogs. Your video has made me realize I can do it myself!
Fantastic video! Thanks for the instruction. Replaced the relay and head assembly switches VERY easily. Those damned springs, though! Make sure you're in good light and a contained area or you'll go on a quest for tiny springs.
My DC25 had the same issue but it was the brushbar switch that had broken on mine and a Dyson engineer fixed it because I didn't know why the brushbar wasn't rotating because Dyson sent me a new head and then an engineer after the head didn't fix it
I just started working on my DC 25, the switch assembly is not that easy to get at like everybody else has been hitting the same problem with a three screws out it's still doesn't want to let go near the cyclone release button also when trying to put it back together again having trouble with the buttons falling downward and sticking into the switches.
Video and the aqua master to there rescue . I got various sizes wooden dowel to unblock Dyson pipes as Kyle quite often blocks it up the small collectible toys etc..

That's the changeover valve wheel, the bit that makes it work. Manchestervacs will have one. You'll need the screw and positioning washer too if yours is missing. Or clip it back together if it's not broken

Why does my dc 18 cover switch cover not come off even with all four screws removed top is off but bottom not wanting to ?

On my dc25 by the changer over Valve there is a plastic see throw part my is broken can it be replace and what is it called? Thanks a lot.
