I got my 66 plate F55 Cooper S 3 weeks ago. I’ve already done 1000 miles at an average of 41mpg. It’s well equipped comfortable and well built. Compared to the 12 year old Alfa before it, this car is very economical so far. Also compared to my experience with Alfa, my local Mini dealer is excellent to deal with. They are helpful, returns calls when they say will and do exactly what is asked for or agreed.
Great reviewer. The German definition of Premium: strip the car until there's just a empty box leftover, and sell it at full price. Then put everything that was stripped out on the option list for double the price. Et voila, you've got your premium car.

Totally disagree about the cooper s,the manual version has a fantastic gear change and is the best to get if you want a drivers car.

Go for the Cooper S, its well worth the extra. Three cylinder engines are tedious.

The Fiesta ST is garbage. Cheap looking interior and a nasty three cylinder engine, rubbery artificial steering and not desirable in the slightest. Ive just got a Cooper S. Superb car in every way.

I’m sorry but the fiesta is pretty cheap in design COMPARED to the mini hatch, and the hatch is also just as fun to drive as a fiesta, the grip on a fiesta seems to balance out a little bit better and that’s about it, everything else? Mini 100%
I have the F55 2018 cooper S with the 7 speed auto box. I think it's awful personally, always feels like it's in a gear higher then it should be. When you are doing 50ish on the motorway and go to overtake there is a total drop off in power whilst the gear box tries to respond and drop down a few gears. End up driving everywhere in sport mode.

Minis aren’t really cars for men especially big sized . I drive a mini which is a superb 5 dr and quality inside and everything but would recommend bmw or something premium

Just sold my ST because it was so uncomfortable and easy to pinch.
Me too, just changed my 2017 Fiesta ST3 for one of these and I'm not disappointed! My Mini is quicker, built better, rides better and equally as fun! Downside is that is more expensive tho but I'm happy!

Minis are not designed to be practical, they are designed to have fun in. If you need more space, simply get a bigger car, yes ?
Every time I park my 2005 Mini near to a modern Mini - I shake my head and wonder how they could mess up such a nice small package.
New ones are much better in every aspect

Mini over any thing, fiesta and polo are bland and boring.
Ive had Fiesta and Polo, both awful cars these days. Ive had Fiestas in the old days and they were brilliant cars back then but now there are so many better options out there. The new Minis are fantastic, ive just got a Cooper S and its a superb handling, premium car full of character.

Tbh the media sucks except the dab radio. The navigation is pretty shit. I always use Google maps on my phone.
5 door is not worth. Just buy a bigger car if you want 5 door such as a countryman.

Good review, horrible car. The original mini was small and pretty - this Mini is just ..... ugh. It's neither one thing nor the other. Modern hatches are easier to upsize; "bubble shaped" cars like the Fiat 500 and Mini don't upsize well. Similarly, that retro circular instrument binnacle doesn't work with a modern digital display - not for me, anyway - like redesigning Big Ben as a digital clock.
