    Couche-Tard, great pick Brandon. Less than 10% of earnings is great. This is way better than those companies that are giving 15% now and it is like 30% of their earnings. 👍

    The home depot calculation based on 10,000 shares, but ya I get your point. Dividends that grow are compound magic and I intend to go heavily towards that soon.

It's really great series and I would love to see such stocks with 10 yrs of Dividend Growth, no DIV cuts survived at least one recession without any hiccups. I would really recommend the reit $stag it’s on the nyse. It’s a industrial reit which rents out large warehouses like Tesla Amazon which is 40% of there tenant and so many other huge companies. You get alotta international exposure with this and they pay monthly dividends.

    For Couche-Tard, what is the advantage of buy a stock with a dividend at 0.83% with the expectation that it will grow to 'normal' levels, when I could just buy a stock that already has a ~5% dividend and make that money immediately?

    • @Rob-ob3sh
      @Rob-ob3sh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not an expert but I think the thought process on this video was companies that the stock price has lots of room for growth along with a growing dividend in order to get the best of both. Most companies that have a dividend of 5% or more don’t have much growth potential in the stock price. It’s a trade off for what your looking for.

    Hi Brandon,
    New investor here, I truly enjoy this episode and the last of the series. I do have one question for someone who is far from retirement: With the fact that this strategy is a little longer to compound, why wouldn’t someone start investing in a high yielding portfolio (to get the ball moving and get capital) and then transition into dividend growth once they have a good amount?
    Thanks!

    • @kayvonmotamed
      @kayvonmotamed 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      no reason not to, try to balance out how much you have invested in high-dividend stocks vs how much you have in dividend growth stocks

    • @beaviswealth
      @beaviswealth  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, Julien. We believe that having a balanced approach at all times is the long-term winning strategy. But, for sure you could have things more weighted towards high payouts, but always remember that brings a bit more risk as well. You're right... you have lots of time, but building a solid base is always important. Thanks for asking! - Marc
