There was a 60 Minutes interview with Paul in about 1982? The host asked of him, "Well you can't just go on forever, can you?" And Paul said, "Why not? That's exactly what I intend to do." And he has. Paul will never retire, until he joins John.

I must say, as a young woman you certainly delivered a wonderful response to this Song. I’m 71 years old and began my journey with the Beatles with “I Want To Hold Your Hand” on AM Radio in Los Angeles in January of 1964. We all went down to the record stores near us an bought the 45 record. It’s so Cool 😎 you had the same emotional reaction as I did and I’m sure most did too, if you’re not a reptile 😅! This was a Gift to ALL of Us as well as to each member of the Band and Families. I Loved your Reaction to Ringo when he was singing background with Paul. Yoko gave the tape to the remaining 3 Beatles with Paul’s name on it. Paul produced the record along with Ringo and Giles Martin because Paul thought a good string arrangement would add to the sound of the Song. Paul also played the slide guitar Solo to honor George. George’s Son Dhani suggested the ending to Peter Jackson and it was honored! Everyone working on this are absolute Maestro’s in their field! Think about that!!! So it is so impressive to me that You Got It right away!!! Thank you for sharing your Take Ash!!! ❤

A little further context to the background of this song. The last time Paul saw John in the mid-70s, John's parting words were "remember me, NOW AND THEN, old friend." Then, when John recorded this demo in 78/79, he labelled the cassette with "For Paul". Gives a whole new perspective to the song and probably explains why Paul has been so desperate to finish it.

Just a side note, johns vocals on this track were pulled from a demo tape in the mid 70s. I believe he wrote this as an ode to his band mates after the split, and maybe even to the adoring fans. John's voice was isolated from the original 1977 demo tape of his "Now And Then" song. And played throughout this recording.
Also, an older George is shown, along with Paul and once with Ringo from their 1995 Anthology studio session. Playing his guitar to the original tape.
The song was not finished at that time, though, as the original tape was not considered suitable for a professional release.
However, technology now exists that can isolate John's voice from his original tape. Making it usable.
This allowed Paul and Ringo to play and sing live along with John's and George's recordings, in the recent studio recording. Making this a true Beatles song.

It's the bow at the end that keeps getting me, mostly because it is farewell. It's the end of The Beatles for good, it's the end of an era of music that we will never witness again. I was a 15/16 year old who watched John, Paul, George and Pete.....in many of the lunchtime sessions in The Cavern in 1961/1962, we knew they were going places. I was in the audience the day Mr Brian Epstein came to see what all the fuss was about.
Then Ringo joined and the circle was complete.
They had an aura thats never been seen before. They were ours, they belonged to us in Liverpool.
It was only a matter of time that we knew we would have to share them with the world and we we're happy to do so.
They split, i wept like a baby.
Then we lost John. The biggest tragedy in musical history.
    I cried for weeks.
    The Dream Was Over.
Then George passed, another loss....and more tears.
Now, all these years later, 2023 they're bigger now than they've ever been.
Seeing them together in this video, i have shed more tears.
I've loved this quartet for 62 years and i was 78 on the 6th of November, still living in Liverpool and I'll love them til the day I pass away.
God bless John, Paul, George and Ringo for all their talents and achievements they have shared with the world.

That one photo with george and john in the black hats, is just about the finest photo of these guys together other than the street crossing photo❤️🤘. Just as the beatles first song is history, so will this last beatles song

Beatles are my favourite band - this song was resurrected from the dead out of McCartney’s love for John and George. The video was directed by Peter Jackson who also used his expertise to extract John’s vocals
    Good re@ction.

You are a major sweetheart!! I loved watch you experience this song/video for the fist time! N&T is #1 in England and The Beatles are blowing up all over again, around the world! I have been a fan since I was a kid in the late '60s/early 70's and The Beatles bring me so much joy and rocking fun, and they always have! I just picked up the re-mastered and augmented "Red" and "Blue" compilation CDs, from Capitol Records, and I've been blasting the boys all week long! The Red & Blue CDs are having their 50th anniversary re-release and they've added all kinds of additional songs and they included N&T as the last song on the Blue album! It all sounds so good, with the remixes, and The Beatles are just as relevant today as they were back in the 60's, IMO. Have fun and listen to more Beatles! :)

Notice that the older versions of Ringo and Paul in the video are wearing black and represents that they still are in mourning and miss George and John. While in the video George and John wear britghter colors.

I was -10 years old when they were introduced to the world. I grew up listening my mom's 45 of I Want To Hold Your Hand/I Saw Her Standing There, Meet the Beatles LP, and Rubber Soul LP in my room. I lost my mom in September of 2021, and this song, as well as Blackbird, Yesterday and In My Life instantly connect me to her (and reduce me to tears). ❤

I was 11 years old and was visiting my aunt who lived nearby. My cousin who was about 17 asked me if I wanted to hear a record she had just bought. I listened to the music and was blown away, suddenly the grey, drab world, as it was in those days, became technicolour. The record was The Beatles first ever album. It is one of my most wonderful memories.

No need to apologize. I have been watching people on TH-cam react to this video all morning and crying. If it's so emotional for fans, I can't imagine what it was like for Paul and Ringo to watch this after it was finished.

It's not AI, it's all real. The technology was used to clean the sound of the old cassette, but it's John singing. George's guitar is from the 1995 Anthology sessions, and the video is made using old videos and photos. There's nothing faked by AI.

John wrote that song as a love letter to Paul. The last thing John said to Paul was, "Think of me every now and then, will you?".

Hello Ash, first time seeing you and loved your reaction when you heard those first notes. I basically had the same reaction, when I heard it, mostly because of My Mom, she was a huge Beatles fan, it's too bad she isn't around to hear and see it, she died a year ago.

The Beatles were such a part of my childhood. This song is simply amazing and haunting. The video only makes it that much better. The first time I heard it was was in tears. I turned 60 last month and well up when I hear it. The orchestral piece was written by Giles Martin. The son of famed Beatles producer George Martin. Which makes it a family affair and he certainly has his fathers talent to be sure.
When Lennon was assassinated I was getting ready for a test the next day in school. Monday Night Football even interrupted the game to tell the world what had just happened. That video is still out there. My mom begged me not to go to New York. The next day in homeroom the teacher had written on the chalk Board that we were to sign out names on the attendance sheet.
I found that teacher along with several others and double that amount of students in the music wing. We spent the day listening to Beatles and Lennon songs. Consoling one another as the emotions would hit. Not one student was marked absent from any class that day. As word got around to the other teachers where we were and why
So, you get as emotional as you need to. Your reactions show you to be a wonderfully caring young lady.

Ash, I am 63 years old and first time on your channel. I remember my brother letting me use his headphones to listen to Sgt Pepper the day it came out. Quite an experience for a 6-year-old. The day after John was shot I had a final exam at Ohio State and there was no way I could take it so I wrote , "taking this exam under protest", handed it in and left without answering a question. The Prof didn't average it into my grade., so that was really cool. I was so messed up emotionally that night I drove to Indianapolis, stopped at a Waffle House, got a cup of coffee and drove back to Columbus. Every single channel on the radio no matter where I was had a Beatle tune on. Talk about the feels! Forty-three years later Peter Jackson and The Beatles drop this video and Immediately I was transported back to December 9th, 1980. I was a mess for about a week or two. But it was a good kind of mess - incredibly surprised to have lived long enough to have experienced the final new The Beatles song and it sent me back to the deep, dark depression of December 9th again along with the glorious affirmation of the joy of all the music, laughter, insight, and wisdom that John, Paul, George and Ringo gave to all of us over the years. Thank you for taking the time for your reaction video. You weren't the only one who cried. BTW, I subscribed.

A beautiful tribute to the greatest band in history. They broke through every kind of technological barrier in their music and this amazing use of AI in the hands of brilliant technical musicians and engineers has brought them together again and back to us in a magnificent song and video that probably brought tears to anyone who appreciated their music and their special charm, as it certainly did to me! God bless The Beatles who contributed so much to millions and millions of lives and have done it once again. It may be their last song but we have all of their songs to enrich our lives and this with the video is certainly their most poignant one! Paul and Ringo continue to represent the best of those boys from Liverpool. As Ringo sang in Liverpool 8, “Liverpool I left you, but I never let you down”.
