Great to travel in the cab on the successors to the 'Blue Tarins'. My father was stationmaster at Bridgeton Central (now no more) when they were introduced - I was primary school age. This would be so much better though if captioned with station names, at the least. Even better with details of junctions and history. Don Coffey is a master at this.
Excellent video (captions would be nice though). The old Partick station at 12:15, the present one opened as a new interchange with the Underground. Also very interesting is the view of the tunnel from Kelvinhaugh. At 14:34 we enter the new, single line only section built in 1979 for the Argyle Line. At 14:53 notice how a tunnel joins from the left and there is now room for two tracks. This is the original abandoned line to/from Partick Central. Finally at 15:43 notice another tunnel on the left - this is the abandonded line north to Kelvinbridge/Botanic Gardens etc. This whole 'underground' section through Cental Low Level was abandonded in the '60s and only came back into use in 1979.
Terrific, travelled these lines plenty but great to get the real view! Lovely sound of these heritage loco's, what a privelidge, thanks for sharing
Very intersting video, thanks for sharing 👍
such a great joy hearing these lovely veteran locos amazing thanks a plenty
After traversing Glasgow railways, you have opened my eyes to ones that I have not been on. Thank you.
Nice to see my local line (Singer is my local station) from this perspective, bonus points for the classic traction too. Top notch viewing.
Thank you as always Mick. I really appreciate and enjoy your videos, especially your Scottish ones.
I travelled those tunnels under the city centre for years as a passenger. It's really cool to see what they look like from the drivers pov. Thanks :-)

Also the remaining length of the disused platforms at Central and I think the smoke vent immediately after the platform end.
Need station and tunnel names for strangers. Excellent video. Quite a network of tunnels beneath Glasgow.
Good video but captions would have been ueeful
Trouble at Upperby 😢
Good to see the ghost of Glasgow Cross at 19:07
What was the time of day or evening?
Looks like early morning as it gets lighter as we go on. Probably a Sunday and the train we see near the end is the first morning service train.
