Sorry guys a inverted spliter on a skid steer is so much easier to use. Why move all that heavy wood to the splitter when you can just drop the splitter over the wood. I do however recognize all your hard work on the splitter. That is a beast.
The splitter is a beast for sure... I have reservations on the hydraulics when retracting the ram & raising or lowering the lifter, the engine appears to bog down considerably to much based on my observations here... Overall it looks like a good build that perhaps could use a couple modifications in hyds. & engine power as time marches on... Thanks for sharing this, Bill... :~)
Great question. It all comes down to cost and damage prevention. An intricate balance to keep cost down to meet a customer's budget. As it says in the description this was a custom build for a customer with a budget. Thanks for watching.
Truly impressive, great job. That said, I see absolutely no need for anymore than 35 commercial tons in a splitter. Your slow cycle time coupled with only a 4× wedge seems inefficient at best, unless of course your someone that opts for 30inch diameter logs or greater which is totally unnecessary..... I've a sweet 35 ton machine with a 5 second cycle time that absolutly blows through everything and I've the option of using any of my 4×, 6× or 12× adjustable wedges.
So do we. Like said in the comments the customer ordered it like this so we built it. We have way faster machines with changeable wedges also. We build what our customers want.
@@joshszydel8202 It's all good but we can't be expected to fish through all the comments to locate something that may not even be there. I'd put that un the Description.
The customer that ordered it has his wife pull levers and he sets the wood on with his grapple trailer. It actually can pile the wood up extremely fast with the right equipment! Thanks for watching!
That's some nasty big wood, that's what she said. Lol, nice work with a shop forklift. Why I would need this splitter in the real world??? I do have a small man complex.
The customer that ordered it uses it daily to process giant yard trees from city lots. Over 600 hrs on it since he purchased it. There is an ass for every seat.
who needs 36" stroke? thing needs 8 way wedge and 24" stoke is more than enough for 99% of people who burn wood. everyone I know heats with wood and none would want the giant wedges your machine makes nice try though.
Lol.....I'm glad that you don't need it. We sell a pile of them to customers with outdoor boilers, maple syrup setups, and commercial operations. That unit a women ordered it to split tree service wood for her 60 inch deep commercial Boiler.
Lol.There is an ass for every seat. The customer that ordered this uses a grapple trailer to handle the unsplit and split pieces. He has a tree removal service and uses the machine to bust the blocks down to then resplit. It must do exactly what he wants because he ordered another!
the splitter did very good splitting that big lumps of elm,and it must be making a lot of tons to do what it did. as for being disorganised at work, it is shown as a demonstration as to what the splitter can do with very challenging wood not as an everyday work scenario.
The power this thing has is unreal

This was a custom splitter that a tree service wanted.
HI THERE GUYS I sure hope i don't need one that big . but it sure was fun to watch thanks john
very cool josh, any way to pick up the cycle time? possibly put a bigger motor and pump?
It is very doable. Lots of options!
"Elm wood burns like churchyard mold
even the very flames are cold"
What in the world!!! That’s wicked!
That thing is a beast 😮

That’s an 8” cylinder moving 3 feet. That does move fairly quick! We aren’t talking 16” wood
Beast of a splitter 👍
The operator must be the boss
Is this one of a kind, or are there other models?
We build lots of different models. Check out Bruteforceusa.com
Wow, the production of this splitter is amazing!🙃
Flow restrictors are terrible... why not use a larger diameter cylinder with a longer stroke on the log lift to get the speed slowed?

Duly noted. I thought I did. Didn't mean to come of as an ass.

Boiler wood….. this isn’t fireplace wood
An incredible splitter...but almost worthless. Looks like a long time to get wood into it lowering efficiency. Cool splitter thou !

Dang that’s some big wood
That’s what she said! It was big wood!
That thing would make short work of the tree service monsters I get josh
That it would!
That's some nasty big wood, that's what she said. Lol, nice work with a shop forklift. Why I would need this splitter in the real world??? I do have a small man complex.
Custom built for a tree service company. Nothing but giant wood.
why would you crush a can by hand when you have 75 tons of crusher available? Asking for a friend.
Older gent built like a tank
👍👍👍🤝
You make the old man do the hardest part rolling log over to the lift? What the hell is the matter with you?
The old man? He's only 5 years older than me!
Haha I love these comments. I think it may have something to do with “he is the owner”
Maybe the old fella should be doing the splitting while you young guys load the lift
The funny thing is hes only 5 years older.
😮 Jesus
Need more blades on the splitter.
That's what the customer ordered! Thanks for watching.
Boiler wood
It's not all fun and games
Not impressed, to slow.
really...i don't see any realworld use for this monster, sorry

Worst splitter I ever saw. What would you do with those pieces of wood? Forklift to move rounds? Terrible production too. No thanks

never in his life does this splitter make 75 tons, nor 15 real tons
and it is very very slow
and you are very disorganized at work

It is in fact 75 ton. As Rockhopper Dockhopper said it was just a demonstration of some nasty wood. Definately not show a firewood production setup.
hi there DLTBGYD YOU DID GOOD JOHN
DMC, 8" cylinder bore at 3,000 PSI is 150,796 LBS of force. That's actually 75.4 tons. lol
@@wireedm1 Gotta love it when someone can just look at it and guesstimate the tonnage. Apparently simple math is too complex for them!
