Is Mahomes greatest of all time? Aaron Rodgers vs. Jordan Love, talks LeBron sitting out | THE HERD

  • Nick Wright joins Colin Cowherd on The Herd to talk about the latest in sports news. They start, of course, with Nick's Kansas City Chiefs, who are heading to Super Bowl LVII with Patrick Mahomes at the reigns. Nick makes an argument for Mahomes being one of the best (if not THE best) quarterback to ever play in the league, and shares his thoughts on who could challenge him for that title. Plus, the Green Bay Packers appear to be moving away from their veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers in favor of Jordan Love. Nick tells Colin whether he thinks that's wise. They also talk LeBron James, who sat out of the Los Angeles Lakers' match against the Brooklyn Nets.

Yeah if you're a freaking idiot like him. Never before did anyone take career points into account in the GOAT debate. If they did then Kareem would be on all these guys #1. But he's not! So why do they say LeBron is the undisputed GOAT if he passed Kareem? See, it makes no logical sense by their own standard lol.
All time highest regular season PPG average. All time highest playoff PPG average. All time highest NBA finals PPG average. All time highest point totals in a finals series. All time highest scoring average in a finals series. 10 more scoring titles than LeBron James! Nobody has ever been a better scorer than Michael Jordan. But Nick says LeBron is a "better scorer". Make that make sense lol.

And Kareem was blocking 4 shots a game throughout the 70s, so he was also the best defender in the league, for a decade. I actually like Colin’s 90-85% number of games theory on how to combat load management. I personally don’t see anything wrong with load management, but if I did that’s a good solution.
Personally if the NBA went down to 64 games. 20 divisional games, 30 non-div conference games (where every team has at least one chance to see a star in conference) and 14 non conference games (home and away for 7 non conference teams) that can make things a lot more interesting in the regular season AND leave no excuse for load management.
Frankly the NBA being a star driven league is why they need to pivot to more of a team driven league like the EPL and NFL. When’s the last real team rivalry the NBA had? Indiana and Detroit in 04? Atlanta and NY in 2020-2021? That’s the issue.

      All DEF 1st
and all that was sandwich in between a 3peat
LeBron played longer so he’ll have the numbers but the achievements belong to Jordan most decorated player in league history

Dude get out of here. Lebron not even the greatest Laker ever. Kareem Magic and Kobe are better. I would take all 3 over Lebron, but I would take Jordan over all 4. You said you wanted to hear it.

Mahomes the GOAT????? Are you kidding??? One SB win??? Rodgers has one. Dilfer also has one. If Mahomes loses another SB, ummm ok. It’s a different game as well. QB is protected. Give me Montana any day.

Today's stats mean nothing since the league is so soft. It would be like giving major league hitters kevlar bats and comparing stats to those back in the day.

    85-86. 30-52..First round exit
    86-87. 40-42...First round exit

    02-03. 37-45..out of playoffs
LeBron james carried an absolutely horrific 2007 Cleveland Cavaliers team to the nba finals
In the modern NBA era (post 1960) only eight NBA top 75 players have won a championship without another top 75 player as a teammate
    Rick Barry (1975)
    Hakeem Olajuwon (1994)
    Tim Duncan (2003) (2005
    Kobe Bryant (2009) (2010)
    Steph Curry (2015) (2022)
    LeBron james (2016)
    Kawhi Leonard (2019)
    Giannis Antetokounmpo (2021)
As you can see, LeBron James is on the list and Micheal Jordan isnt
Lebron james has won 17 playoff series, without an nba top 75 teammate. Michael Jordan won ZERO
In the year before Micheal Jordan and LeBron James joined their team and the year after they left their team, their records were
    83-84 bulls 27-55
    84-85 bulls. 38-44
    92-93 bulls 57-25
    93-94 bulls 55-27
98-99 bulls 13-37 without Scottie Pippen
    00-01 wizards 19-63
    01-02 wizards. 37-45
    02-03 wizards 37-45
    03-04 wizards 25-57
    02-03 cavaliers 17-65
    03-04 cavaliers 35-47
    09-10 cavaliers 61-21
    10-11 cavaliers 19-63
    09-10 heat. 47-35
    10-11 heat 58-24
    14-15 heat 37-45
    2013-14 cavaliers 33-49
    2014-15 cavaliers 53-29
    2017- 18 cavaliers 50-32
    2018-19 cavaliers 19-63
    2017-18 lakers. 35-47
2018-19 lakers were 20-14 when LeBron James got injured on Christmas day.
As you can see When LeBron James joins a team, the team improves more than Michael Jordan and when LeBron James leaves a team, the team always goes into the tank.
Micheal Jordan, excluding the 94-97 seasons, when the NBA moved the three point line to 22 feet, was a career 28% three point shooter. LeBron James is a career 34% three point shooter
Micheal Jordan was a great defensive player, in an Era where you could handcheck. Playing defense is much easier when you can handcheck. For nearly 6'9 250 LeBron James' entire career he wasn't afforded the opportunity to handcheck.
THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR..LEBRON JAMES IS THE GOAT!!!!!

MJ w/out Pippen are cherry-picked seasons, where MJ was a rookie, broke foot his 2nd year and had drug addicts like Woolridge and Dailey kicked off the 87 team. Old, injured MJ went to a 19 win wizards team. They were actually on pace for the playoffs halfway through the season before his knee injury. It's not like Lbj is carrying these Lakers teams anywhere.
2007 cavs had 50 wins, a top 4 defense, beat 2 scrub .500 teams and the Pistons without Ben Wallace (17-13 record vs West). Then Lebron got exposed and swept by the Spurs shooting 36% and 6 TOs per game.
In any case, MJ proved he could carry a team when his best players were out
going 31-12 (0.721 win%) without Pippen in the last 3peat
and 36-9 (0.800 win%) without Rodman in the 96 and 97 title season
Kyrie got robbed on the top 75 team. But that didnt stop him from outscoring curry in back to back finals and averaging 25+ PPG for the ENTIRE 2016 and 2017 Playoffs. And 29 PPG in 2017 finals. Jordan has 0 playoff SERIES with a teammate averaging 25+ PPG.
Mj improved the bulls by winning 6 titles. Lbj improved the cavs by winning 61 and 66 games, not getting to the finals and choking vs 2010 celtics. Then he teamed up with 2 all stars and choked again vs the mavs.
When Lebron leaves cavs they rebuild and get draft picks. 2010-11 Cavs w/out LJ were a complete roster overhaul with trades, injuries and new coach.
Wade and Bosh missed 60 games in 2015 plus Ray Allen left. 2016 Heat made it to game 7 ECSF w/out Bosh, just like 1994 bulls.
      a bad 3pt shooter
This is the only part of Jordan's game where he struggled, and when it mattered most he stepped up his 3pt shooting in the playoffs, shooting 34.5% from the original 3pt line in the playoffs and over 38% from three in the 91, 92, 93 Playoffs
Lebron would be a better defender in the 90s, but he wouldn't have an easier time guarding the vastly superior players who could already score with that resistance against better defenders than Lebron himself. If Lebron can't even guard Antawn Jamison, 22 year old Kawhi Leonard, or Jason Terry, all the handchecking and physical play in the world isn't going to make him as good as MJ on defense.
