There's always a culture of 20 something year olds thinking that the only thing that matters is being desirable for women and think they have life figured out, and for some reason people accept this. How about listen to an 80-year-old for a change? You will see leading a peaceful life is about finding things you love, maybe that is a particular woman, maybe that's a hobby or a place. My great grandmother never was happy in a family, my great grandfather was a total ass, but she flourished after divorcing and getting to be herself. She loved ink press art, she loved aquatic nature, and she was so kind and generous to everyone. What Greek needs to do is stop emulating a formula, spend time discovering himself and finding the things he loves in life. I truly don't believe he will be happy if he gets a girlfriend, because he doesn't seem happy with himself. A girlfriend is only going to put more pressures on his insecurity and sunk more cost into this idea of an ideal life. He needs to be at peace with his true self if he wants to have a good relationship. If he doesn't his girlfriend will just be another outlet to unload his dissatisfaction of life onto.

I think what happened with Greek was he was sad, fat and lonely, thought working out would fix all three things, realised he was still sad and lonely on the other side but now he has more energy, his sadness turned to anger and remains a blend. If he was in a good loving relationship when he was still in Texas, I'm not sure he would have devolved into this incel version of Greek.
Relationships dont make or break peoples happiness. If you arent happy outside of a relationship, you wont be happy inside. If what you said about him wanting to lose weight to be happy and not being happy when it happened is true, then the same thing would have happened if he got a girlfriend.

Man, I really feel this. There was a time when I was younger when I took off a lot of weight, worked out all the time, but I was also cranky all the time, irritable, and totally focused on it. No social life to speak of and few friends. I got back to a happy medium later in my life where I still work out a lot but I also don't follow the diet so strictly and don't check myself in the mirror several times a day. It was really awful. All this crazy “I’m above everyone” talk when he got on Adderal. I understand Adderal not the full blame, but it’s such a strong drug it’s altered his ways of thinking. Not “awaken” them

I used to watch T1 and Greek all the time back in these days. I also met T1's ex-girlfriend Bailee after they broke up and were still somewhat talking. I used to play Rust and Overwatch with her until I legit couldn't stand her attitude anymore. Was interesting times lol. Was always hopeful she would play something with T1 & Greek just to get the experience of being teamed up with them, but sadly never happened.

Wasn't there for greek and tyler streams, but I was there shortly afterwards, and greek was easily one of the funniest dudes on the platform, he had a great talent for entertaining viewers. One of my favorite all-time periods of twitch was Twitchcon 2018, in which greek was arguably the one who contributed the most to how fun it was to watch. Twitchcon 2019 was great as well, as well as other off collabs he like the streams with OTV and jakenbake. If you told me a couple years ago that he would get into all this drama, i'd probably believe it, even then he wasn't perfect, but I never thought his knack for entertainment would disappear as well

Depends on the video really lol. If it's just some minor twitch drama that won't matter an hour after it's reported, then sure. He'll watch it and basically just stare at the screen blankly. In a case like this video though where it's about someone he knows personally he actually has something meaningful he can add.
I don't put that much credence on him changing. The audience has also been conditioned to prefer "wholesome" and gentle broadcasters. The core feedback for Twitch streamers are the subreddit LiveSteamFail. And many of the vocal are a very progressive demographic. This group sets the tone for top level streamers. For Greek to be successful going forward, he would have to pivot back to being "wholesome" and appealing to Reddit.
I honestly think it's been inside Greek the whole time, it just took a metamorphosis and some fake confidence for him to show it. I've been to many irl events and from all the streamers I've met Greek is the only one that was just a straight up asshole. From forcing himself onto a girl at a party to trying to put down and exclude anyone who hung out with one of this "friends" (the people he leeched off of). This was early 2019. Now he's showing his true colors and he's got plenty of bad takes to go along with it.

I was there on the stream the day tyler first played with greek, I hadn't watched tyler in a while too since I was a fan of his league content. I actually didn't enjoy greek on tyler's stream for a little while then he grew on me. Ever since he started gambaing with trainwrecks, I tuned straight out.
Ngl I don't see alot of streamers agreeing to playing with a sniper even if chat ask for it, probably a combination of greek being consistent at sniping and tyler being known to be toxic at that time (persona wise) he probaly didn't give af and was open to playing with a sniper which was fortunate for greek in the long run

I‘ve been watching twitch for a long time and was there when most of the big things happened. I always liked the idea of sitting at home and just game all day and being paid. I also tried a lot of times to stream myself, but I’ve never pulled through and did it longer than a few months. I always felt like that there was point of where you have to put yourself out there at 100% in order to be a full time streamer and making good money. At some point I’ve always felt like it just not worth doing that. I like my private life and value it more than being twitch famous or even try at getting there. Success always comes at a price an for me that price is the separation of a work life and a private life. I do like streaming and all things involved in content creation, but I would never give up my personal space for that. Xqc is a good example, where it’s actually working out quite well. Greek on the other hand is just the bad end of the spectrum. Just my two cents, love you.

Greek from 4 to 6 years ago was classic Twitch. xqc, sodapoppin, greek, reckless, and tyler were all connected.
I think what happened with Greek was he was sad, fat and lonely, thought working out would fix all three things, realised he was still sad and lonely on the other side but now he has more energy, his sadness turned to anger and remains a blend. If he was in a good loving relationship when he was still in Texas, I'm not sure he would have devolved into this incel version of Greek.

Relationships dont make or break peoples happiness. If you arent happy outside of a relationship, you wont be happy inside. If what you said about him wanting to lose weight to be happy and not being happy when it happened is true, then the same thing would have happened if he got a girlfriend.

Greek saw people who seemed happy and tried to emulate it, he tried emulating what he thought a successful man looks like (fit, rich, confident), only to realize that he didn't escape his depression. He needed to find an explanation, so again he looks outwards. He looks for people to blame, because I think subconsciously he feels betrayed when society promised him happiness if he emulated that supposed ideal life, only to realize he wouldn't get what he wanted. There's so much bad advice, bad philosophy, and bad analysis on the internet and Greek was impressionable as he was in a vulnerable state. He wouldn't be happy even if he found a girlfriend that did what he thought he wanted, because what he thinks he wants is what he learned he was supposed to want.
I think in general, I wish people were more understanding of the incel types and the conspiracy theory types. They aren't admirable people, but I'm not exactly sure what ridicule is accomplishing. Is someone who is obviously depressed or mistrustful going to flourish as a human being if he opens up and gets laughed at? It only adds fuel to the fire when people act like there's only one pathway to a fulfilling life, like people who say you have to start a family or be attractive to live a good life.

The only way it lasts is it has to be sustainable for you. That is losing weight AND keeping it 101. It doesn't matter if you can go on an insanely strict diet for a year and lose 150 pounds if you cant sustain that lifestyle

This hurts seeing him spiral downwards, I remember having some of my best laughs watching Greek and T1 doing variety content all those years ago. Hopefully he can find some guidance, because he definitely needs some right now.
That really was the golden age if twitch. I have always admired Greek, even through all his hate. I only wish the best for the guy, he is a part of so many good memories of the 16-18 era.
Man, I really feel this. There was a time when I was younger when I took off a lot of weight, worked out all the time, but I was also cranky all the time, irritable, and totally focused on it. No social life to speak of and few friends. I got back to a happy medium later in my life where I still work out a lot but I also don't follow the diet so strictly and don't check myself in the mirror several times a day. It was really awful. I guess I'm saying I just know the mindset, it sucks. I feel bad for Greek and I hope he comes around. It's a shame to watch it.

Wasn't it a mushroom trip that changed his thought patterns and made him want to get better and fit? Sometimes after a profound experience like that you kinda ride the wave of positive change and self improvement. But the after glow doesn't last forever and lingering issues you haven't really dealt with well, will resurface. It can open your mind and snap you out of depression and bad things but it's a double edge sword sometimes. The mind is a fragile thing.

I’ve mentioned previously that this really just seems like the worst phase of Greek. Shame can keep you down for a longtime, Greek overcame that and moved forward, but only physically. I used to watch T1 and Greek all the time back in these days. I also met T1's ex-girlfriend Bailee after they broke up and were still somewhat talking. I used to play Rust and Overwatch with her until I legit couldn't stand her attitude anymore. Was interesting times lol.
Was always hopeful she would play something with T1 & Greek just to get the experience of being teamed up with them, but sadly never happened.

Actually what happened was Greek started being who he wanted but those around him didn't like it. He worked out people only love him for the image he portrays, its very depressing.
I think in general something happened when greek focused on himself and got his weight down, he got better mentally and physically but those two factors made him lose his old self, which probably made him unsure and anxious again since it wouldn't be difficult to tell that people felt different about him when he came back fit but unfunny .,,,,

Wasn't there for greek and tyler streams, but I was there shortly afterwards, and greek was easily one of the funniest dudes on the platform, he had a great talent for entertaining viewers. One of my favorite all-time periods of twitch was Twitchcon 2018, in which greek was arguably the one who contributed the most to how fun it was to watch. Twitchcon 2019 was great as well, as well as other off collabs he like the streams with OTV and jakenbake. If you told me a couple years ago that he would get into all this drama, i'd probably believe it, even then he wasn't perfect, but I never thought his knack for entertainment would disappear as well

I don't put that much credence on him changing. The audience has also been conditioned to prefer "wholesome" and gentle broadcasters. The core feedback for Twitch streamers are the subreddit LiveSteamFail. And many of the vocal are a very progressive demographic. This group sets the tone for top level streamers. For Greek to be successful going forward, he would have to pivot back to being "wholesome" and appealing to Reddit.

I honestly think it's been inside Greek the whole time, it just took a metamorphosis and some fake confidence for him to show it. I've been to many irl events and from all the streamers I've met Greek is the only one that was just a straight up asshole. From forcing himself onto a girl at a party to trying to put down and exclude anyone who hung out with one of this "friends" (the people he leeched off of). This was early 2019. Now he's showing his true colors and he's got plenty of bad takes to go along with it.
yeah i agree. His only real change after losing the weight was that his ego increased and thus so did all his insecurities. Because of that he started projecting his issues onto the people around him which just amplified the shitty parts of his personality. Its clear that streaming is not good for his mental health either.
I was there on the stream the day tyler first played with greek, I hadn't watched tyler in a while too since I was a fan of his league content. I actually didn't enjoy greek on tyler's stream for a little while then he grew on me. Ever since he started gambaing with trainwrecks, I tuned straight out.

I‘ve been watching twitch for a long time and was there when most of the big things happened. I always liked the idea of sitting at home and just game all day and being paid. I also tried a lot of times to stream myself, but I’ve never pulled through and did it longer than a few months. I always felt like that there was point of where you have to put yourself out there at 100% in order to be a full time streamer and making good money. At some point I’ve always felt like it just not worth doing that. I like my private life and value it more than being twitch famous or even try at getting there. Success always comes at a price an for me that price is the separation of a work life and a private life. I do like streaming and all things involved in content creation, but I would never give up my personal space for that. Xqc is a good example, where it’s actually working out quite well. Greek on the other hand is just the bad end of the spectrum.
