100% because whoever thinks magnets works on PH has never seem chemistry. And is someone that thinks PH can change in the body. Your blood Blood Not Nerves! has a very narrow range that it regulates through breathing. Sorry, but this thing angers me. It a fridge magnet on a ring!

If you test stuff like this in the future, you would try having half the test subjects have the item on the first test and half on the second? To avoid the variable of having done the task before.

honestly that's the only problem I have with theory channels. They have such great ideas, but then the test is kind of inconsistent where it could be made so pretty easily

Hey, I'm a nurse and highly recommend that Sam see a doctor. Normal heart rate is 60-100. Sustaining an abnormal heart rate, low or high, can either be someone's norm or a sign of underlying issues. AND. His blood pressure with the elevated diastolic (below number) is not a great either.
Please please please 🙏 See a doctor.
Also, the only semi-significant vital sign changes were in round 3. Everything else is a just a big nothing burger. But this was an interesting topic.

i think the order of attempts would also play a part. because it makes sense that the highest stress that you would feel would be the first attempt in every game or challenge but when you already expect the results or know what's coming, you'd most likely be less stressed about the repeated challenge. also given the other games that take you a few attempts to get right or master, having 3 attempts to practice on would probably make you less stressed in the last attempt. idk. that's just me, a me theoryyy! thanks for reading!

Can we recheck Sam’s BP and HR at rest? Like sitting up in a chair, no taking, no ankles crossed, NO MOVING AT ALL. His resting HR is uncomfortably high, and his diastolic BP is high (I suspect poor BP reading technique)
As a quick note, normal heart rate at rest is 60-90, and blood pressure is 110-120/70-80. There’s some leniency high or low before we treat, but 110’s for resting HR is too close

Maybe dressing more powerful can give one a sense of control, but even that can spiral into unhealthy compensating.

I will say, it can take a few minutes for your BP and heart rate to stabilize once you change positions from standing to sitting so I'm not sure how quickly the baseline was taken between the two positions. Also, crossing your legs when taking your BP changes your BP. You shouldn't talk or move your arm and should stay still until it's done for best results. You guys may already know this and I may be not helping at all but I just wanted to clarify, just on the off-chance. It's best to be done all in the same position, as well, so you can clarify that, whilst in the same position (standing, sitting, lying) you all had resting heart rates and BP measurements of x.
Anywho, again, very probably not helpful but I love the content and anything I can do to help with more I will ❤️

Correlation does not equal Causation. 4:15 and 6:56 I'd would ask to do this episode again only do four rounds round all different tasks but are still related in some way have one be control no ring then the rest have the ring but you all switch wearing the ring passing to the right but here is the twist only one is the stress reliving ring the others have the magnets removed and replaced with aluminum of equal weight. The only one who knows who is wearing the actual ring would be someone that works behind the scenes like an editor or sound engineer. I am a sceptic when it comes to miracle products. I grew up watching Mythbusters as a kid. Sorry I do believe I remember the wrist band that helped your balance turned out to gut be a a piece of plastic with a shiny sticker at was confirmed a total scam product. 👎 I'd expect not just claims but also show unbiased results.

    • @YuniX2

Honestly I think a better option would be to have three study groups. One that acts as a control for all rounds, one that does the stressful activity with the experimental condition on the first attempt, and one that does the stressful activity with the experimental condition on the second attempt. They also need a much more valid measure of stress than heart rate. Honestly, if I were a scientist studying this I'd be doing a longitudinal study. If I hadn't made a career change between bachelor's and master's degrees maybe I actually could have! But given the constraints of being a TH-cam channel I still expect much better from them than what they provided. This experiment was lazy at best.

For example, I got a choker for Christmas yesterday, and I have taken 2 selfies (I don't normally take pictures of myself) with it on. I remember an episode of Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse, there was a joke where one of Barbie's friends wears Raquelle's clothes, and her personality goes from being super cooky and funny to mean and self-centered, and I can confirm, this is accurate. I have very low self-confidence, so the days I feel super pretty and cool from clothes, I get super happy. Point is, wear what makes you happy.

Never thought I'd see the day where Style Theory was promoting pseudoscience.

They've always been a little pseudoscientific based on their constraints as a channel, but this episode was just negligent. I feel like team theorist could use some professional development courses about how to conduct a scientific study. They all seem to need a refresher.

I wish they did a double blind test with all these products, expecially the ring. It would of been very easy to get the "real" rings and a placebo "fake" ring for 2 of the contestants. The since is severely lacking in these "experiments" they didn't have a theory but formulated one after the results of the "experiments" rather than drawing a conclusion or proposing a way to improve the "experiment".

2:02 also, many get anxiety when you’re brought up a subject you do not know anything about, like a sudden surprise! You’re cleaning this though you don’t know how to do exactly what is just then asked of you. It will guarantee stress and anxiety over the top.

OK to be fair for example the standard weighted blanket to my knowledge is around 14 pounds and I don’t think you would want to be walking around with 14 pound clothing and that would be like 14 pounds for the sweatshirt and the sweatpants

    Things that help me:
    1. Weighted blanket: the extra pressure helps me fall asleep faster.
    2. Acupressure mat: helps alleviate everyday pain.
    3. Aromatherapy mist diffuser: don't care for the scents, just like having the cool mist.

My stress level is typically around a 0 and a 1 on any given day. The most stressful thing in my life are my kids, but for the most part they are awesome. My job tries to stress me out, but I just do my best, which is all I can expect from myself.
