Testing a DC Breaker

performing a simple test on a DC circuit breaker characterized by a rated voltage of 1000Vdc. Only one pole of the circuit breaker was tested in a short-circuit condition using a source consisting of a series of solar panels with a maximum current of approximately 8A and a maximum voltage of 300VDc.
This test is considered a case with relaxed conditions, and the circuit breaker is tested at much lower values than its nominal values. However, despite that, we found that the circuit breaker failed to safely extinguish the arc.
