I am SO excited to have found a kiwi software engineer's channel! Sometimes it is hard to relate to the mostly American vlogs, nice to see someone in my own environment 😊 I am finishing up my 2nd/last year of a software dev diploma.

For your home theater PC I would recommend getting a Logitech K400. It's a wireless keyboard with built in touchpad. I've used one for years to remote control both my PC and/or HTPC and it works great. It's nice having the touchpad on it so you don't have to use a dedicated mouse or controller with it. But obviously you would still want the controller for playing games.

To solve your keyboard Bluetooth issue you can connect to one device with 2.4ghz, and the other device with 5.0ghz, if your device is capable of both. I had the same problem and ended up getting a keyboard that could switch between the two.

the solution for your keyboard on the tv is to buy a keyboard with a touchpad built in so you can control the PC. and you can always keep the keyboard next to your couch.
I think your keyboard can have multiple devices. My Keychron can have three. Knowing all models aren't the same but maybe lookup keychron shortcuts for your model.
