Gaddis would have gone down as one of the all time great running backs in college football. Probably the best OU ever had. If I remember correctly, he had rushed for nearly 900 yards (over 7 yds/carry) before he tore his ACL against Texas in ‘89. Even after his return he was clearly. It as fast and still rushed for over 1200 yds.

Commercial breaks were handled way different back in the 80s and 90s. The commercials didn’t mess with the ebb and flow of games.

Nothing like seeing a kid get tossed from the game for going low to make a good hit only to have the runner lower his head/fall down and helmets collide. 15 yards & he's tossed. Then there's the lack of defense due to all the rules against it. It's gotten tougher & tougher for me to even watch current football.
Watching Jerry Parks run Sanders down at the 15:50 mark is one of the most vivid memories of this game for me. I thought he was a can't miss NFL prospect. I think he beat the shit out of someone over a cassette tape. Part of the madness going on around the program at that time I guess .

The wish Bone Offense, a pre cursor to RPO without the flanking of WRS and mostly the run on outside sweep. Canadian Football was where the RPO Offense came from besides the High Schools use of the style back then.
