Find the warmest water you can, then take too 'em with an assortment of baits like this: th-cam.com/video/OVVJexLF5ag/w-d-xo.html

On those secondary points - how deep of water will you sit to cast into the shallows?

What bait do you use as your "search" bait in this situation to see if they are on that point?

Hi Corbin, a lot of baits work well. The Bassmaster Elite Series are currently fishing spots like this on Fork. Pros at the top of the pack are dominating with glide baits and jerkbaits. Other moving baits such as paddle tail swimbaits, crankbaits, and ChatterBaits are excellent options too. We recently dropped this video with Ott DeFoe where he highlights his top 5 spring baits for anywhere in the country -- we thought was excellent, simple, commonsense content: th-cam.com/video/OVVJexLF5ag/w-d-xo.html

What water temperature do you guys look out for that triggers them to move up shallow?

He Trey, we were out filming underwater video of huge schools of bass yesterday in northern MN -- water temps were 40 in the morning and 43 by the afternoon (anywhere from 2- to 8 feet of water). Guess it really depends on where you're fishing in the country. The nice warm days do seem to consistently bring fish into a zone where they're more accessible to shallow moving baits.

We have a ton of respect for Carl and his ability to think critically and figure things out. The dude has worked exceptionally hard to make a go of it in this great country of opportunity for those that put forth the effort.
