I have a similar stategy. I haven't been buying too many common or rare draws, but I've been getting all the minor and major chests that I can in batch 1, and all the Epics. My legendaries are far behind, but I'm not super worried about them.
I got used to it eventually, but I was confused about the gold foil thing for a while myself because a regular legendary looks kinda gold. But it'll have a higher level. That's how I quickly verify. If I see it's a level 1, I know it's regular foil. There is another part of the border that turns gold when it's a gold foil.

5 years and I don't even have all the gladius cards. None are higher than six level. Thanks for the video
Same! I don't have a single max-level Gladius card. I went for a long time without being in a guild, which worked against me.
