One of the things I love about this movie is that when she's singing for the karaoke contest, her voice sounds very different from a lot of her "official" music. There's even an official cover of "I Love Rock n Roll" by Britney Spears, but it sounds very different and has her more well-known "baby" voice. It's nice to see something where she's allowed to do things in her own style. Loved the video and how you both handled a lot of the more sensitive subject matter, thanks guys!

Childhood friendships are something else. I always thought my then best friend would be my ride or die for the rest of our lives. But once you hit that teenage stage where it’s all about popularity, it just sets you up for disappointment. My friend made the cut and I just… didn’t. She ditched me in 8th grade for a girl we’d known for a week.
I pretty much drifted the next couple years and then end of junior year, I did meet the two people who would become my ride or dies. We’re still best friends over a decade later ❤
Me and the childhood friend reconnected towards the end of senior year, but the trust never really fully repaired and that’s on both of us.

Im so sorry Sam. Most of us go through this eventually. Mostly as girls and women but men too. Its just heartbreaking that men aren't taken as seriously as women. If a woman is lucky enough to be taken seriously.
0:46 She only has that one big movie role because after she filmed it she hated the feeling of being someone else and felt that it was too much energy to go back to yourself. Something like that. So yeah it was her own decision 😭
Did you all catch that she told him her mother said that he made her have the baby? When a woman is forced to bare a pregnancy and a child she wasn't ready for and didn't want... that kid can sometimes be a reminder of being forced into a situation. Not all women can deal with that. She might have been the type that if she had stuck around she'd have been horribly unhappy, quite possibly nasty with it. It's a bad situation all the way around and unfortunately the kids tend to get the raw end of it no matter what.
I think the question here though is was it like forced like he found out and made her go through with it, or was it that they found out and he was so excited and hopeful that she didn’t have the heart to say she didn’t want that?

This movie always has me on an emotional roller-coaster, even years later seeing Britneys real life struggles makes me look at some things she says in the movie differently its so sad 😢 but I truly love this movie her acting is truly great and your reactions were amazing thankyou so much for this video 😊

On the topic of childhood friendships: i’m so lucky my first ever friend who i grew up with in the same apartment still is my best friend, and 32 years later we live on parallel streets. We didn’t even go to the same schools or anything

@@samandmariachannel yes you need to make time for each other especially in the begining and learn to be honest and vulnerable. After some point you can say anything to each other and not get offended. It gets much easier after surviving entire teenagehood and early twenties together 😅
Yeah.. when i turned 18 i was severely depressed and felt exactly like that. Like i missed everything and my teens were gone. It took a lot of time to get over this.

@@samandmariachannel sometimes when a person is on parole they can even have a curfew, you can occasionally get permission to break the rules of your parole, but those are rare and usually for extremely rare circumstances and generally only given to people with less violent crimes
He says later in the movie that he had a year of probation and had to stay in Ohio, so he's out of it by this time.

I remember loving this movie when I was super little. I loved Britany and remember me and my friends would jump off the top bunk onto blankets to 123 action from one of her songs.
For me this movie is a classic I grew up with it and it's one of my favorites of all time.

Sam you had me drop a few tears when it came to your side note on Mimi's story. I'm so sorry though unfortunately it happens often. It happened to me twice within a few years in between. I did not receive the support I needed during those times. I felt alone and alienated because my family made me feel ashamed of speaking up.
I'm so sorry to hear that you've dealt with this. Every time I hear of these things happening, I remember how myopic and single minded most of the world can be and it sucks.

You guys get so stuck on the wardrobe of this movie but they literally started the road trip complaining about Kit bringing 4 suitcases of clothes... which definitely would fit in the trunk with any one elses bags and sleeping bags.
