We took a train from Brussels, Belgium to Luxembourg for the day! Highlights include the Casemates (17 km of underground tunnels) and a macchiato. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

It makes me so happy to see people visiting Luxembourg! Often when people come to Western Europe they hit Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands but skip over our little gem of a country. Luxembourg is more than the capital city though - there are many castles, cute towns and the area around the Moselle river is lovely. Would recommend coming back! (Also, the Golden Bean is not the best coffee - Knopes is! They have 2 locations: one downtown and one in Hollerich)

Well... Luxembourg is the hidden gem! And I agree, the country for its small size has really a lot to offer. Went often when i was young. And your suggestion regarding Knopes I will try out on my next visit :) Any top recommendations for restaurants?
One day in a city! Crazy. I like spending 8-10 days, one country at a time as well. How can you absorb the culture and every thing a city has to offer in one day! Would you suggest those cute towns you were referring to. I'll be there in August. Thanks.
@Joenna DiMauro Luxembourg is quite small. However, I think 3 days is just nice. Indeed, I agree, on a one day trip not much culture can be absorbed. For the Christmas market Luxembourg in 1 day is really perfect. If you are in that region, also consider Trier (Germany), Strassbourg (xmas market), A2 Fermont (Fort from 2nd Worldwar).

I love the way you both travel. You don't rent cars everywhere like Rudy Maxa and Rick Steves. I like how you rely on public transit systems. I travel the very same way. My philosophy is that why would you want to drive in another country and miss the views out your window. When you take public transport in other places you never been, you let someone else do the driving and you get to enjoy the view and you wont get lost cause, of someone else is doing the driving and knows the way around.

Luxembourg is a really beautiful place. I found the best time for a 1 Day trip is December when the Christmas markets are on! :D

My parents went to Europe in 1970 but before they bought a Volkswagen and when they arrived in Europe they picked up their car in Luxembourg and drove to 13 countries. Then had the car shipped back to the US and we rode the bus to Houston to pick it up. We got to watch it being lifted off the ship. Very exciting for a 6th grader and 1st grader. Later in 1976 that Volkswagen became my first car! 😊
So glad you visited our little, lovely Luxembourg. I have lived here 9 years (from Napa and Vegas). Pease tell all of your friends to come see us. We are a 2 hour train from Paris (gare de l'est) and so close from Brussels and Frankfurt/ Cologne also. Wonderful for a nice day trip or even 3 days. Lots to see and 7 castles too!

I just found this video after doing quite a bit of family history and discovering that my mother's family is from Renaissance era Luxembourg. My IMMEDIATE reaction to that discovery was as follows: Oh, hey, I follow Kara and Nate, let's see if they went to Luxembourg! I am a historian for my career, so it's very natural for me to start researching something new like this. What better way to start learning about my ancestral homelands in Europe than my favorite travel channel on TH-cam!

recommendation for luxembourg is also town called vianden...very beautiful large restored medieval castle, cable car from city center to the castle, very many nice souvenir shops

We went to Luxembourg after being in France, Germany and Belgium. It was our last stop before going home and the best thing about it was the walk in the valley below the city. The food there was good but you have to know where to eat and we found one of the best Italian places there near our hotel.
Kara you were giving me heart palpitations everything you got close to that yellow line at the train station 😳 stop it. Need you alive for more adventures 😉

I spent 24 hours in Luxembourg with my son ( we are travelling all around the world as you can see in our Channel) and we Love It. Weather was a Little bit chill but luxembourg really deserve a visit, more than other cities near there that are more popular about tourism
I think you needed more then a day to explore Luxembourg, there are many things that you missed. I stayed there for two days and explored only the old town part.
Come back to Luxembourg now. All transportations are free ! Modern tram in the city . Soon to the airport.
I´ve been Bingewatching you Guys since the Start of the Pandamic and it helped me a lot to get through this stuff, which i would say a big thanks to you! It´s awesome to see that you have visited my lovely Country too! Unfortunately you were just one Day in the capital city, because we have so much more to see like around my neighborhood along the Mosel river with all the vineyards! Hopefully you can revisite Luxembourg once more, then i can show you around. :)

I wish I could have been there to show you guys around. I love Luxembourg and their people. They are the nicest. It is the center of Euro banking so there are a lot of foreigners there. It is also famous on the borders for having large retail stores with huge gas stations. They have lower taxes on gas, cigarettes, alcohol, etc and we would drive over all the time, 15 minutes, and tank up. Saved tons of money by doing so. Anyway, I hope you guys make it to Trier one day!

I was in Luxembourg back in 1970. Did you go into the Grand Hotel across the street from the train station? Did you get to the airport? There's a fancy restaurant at the airport.

Yvonne Zhao another thing in Luxembourg is that Gen Patton is buried there. Not in Lux city but outside in the country. He wanted to be buried with his men. Large American cemetery.

It's still funny to think that when I travel from the Netherlands (where I live) to another country in Europe how little time it takes to get there. From Rotterdam to Antwerp Belgium it takes me only 1,5 hours by car, to got to Germany I drive 2 hours and I'm in Germany. London takes about 2 hours by train.
Luxemburg has the cheapest petrol on the continent, people go from the countries around to fill up their cars but only them as a spare can is banned.

From Luxembourg we travelled to Germany for the day . It took 2 hrs
A la soupe doesn‘t exist anymore and it is sad that the tourist office recommended it, because there exist far better places and some real luxembourgish restaurants where you get authentic food ☺️

Public transport is now free EVERY DAY. The schedules are not always reliable but "you get what you pay for". lol
And that's the problem. Good free public transportation is necessary, and it's not free since it's paid in taxes.
