"Score" means twenty, like how "dozen" means twelve. The death count wasn't quite in the hundreds yet (still below 200), so they used the next biggest unit, a score (instead of using tens or dozens).
I don't understand this title. Why be so vague saying "killing scores" when we already know the exact number of killed, which is 179. Such an odd choice.
@@jenna-a-gogoI am well aware what scores means. Being so vague in the title when the exact number of dead is already known is just an odd choice for a news organization, as it objectively makes the title less informative.
The title could be more descriptive. Scores sounds less personal than lives. Also they didn’t give a specific number of deaths because the count can still change.
Key words - "I don't understand". A "score" is 20. To have said "dozens" would be to diminish the number, while saying "hundreds" would be inaccurate. What exactly is the problem that you you have with the use of the word "scores"? Oh, that's right - you _don't understand. _

Man I’m supposed to be taking my first flight ever! and it’s supposed to be Thailand this summer this does not make me feel any better😩!
Prayer is key! Remember God has plans for everyone
How many killing score???why is this title using the text
Score is another word for the number 20.
This use of the word "scores" means a large number. It has nothing to do with the other definition in reference to sports games.
as in 'Four scores, and seven years'.
The English vocabulary must be difficult for you.
"Score" means twenty, like how "dozen" means twelve. The death count wasn't quite in the hundreds yet (still below 200), so they used the next biggest unit, a score (instead of using tens or dozens).
Very tragic! RIP. What happened to the wheels?
I don't understand this title. Why be so vague saying "killing scores" when we already know the exact number of killed, which is 179. Such an odd choice.
"Scores" means a large number. 179 is a large number. There is nothing odd about using this in the title.
@@samuelluria4744why would they want to diminish the number? Scared to say 3 digits? 1 7 9
the fact that most of the people on board were families/couples returneing from their Christmas holiday trip just breaks my hurt... 💔
Who the hell idea it was to put "killing scores" in title?
Scores is used as a number here. It would be similar to say, “Plane crash, killing dozens”
Ikr, why be so vague when we already know the exact number killed, which is 179?
should say “at least 150 lives lost”
so disrespectful
Scores means groups of 20. 170+ is nearly eight score. Nothing disrespectful about using an uncommon yet completely acceptable word used for counting groups.
@@JM-vp8zc you think these idiots know that?
Maybe the plane indicated that the gear was down? They were coming in way too hot!!!
A bird strike that causes landing gear not to come down?
I reckon the pilots got distracted and messed up big time.
It happens when the debris damages the area preventing the compartment from opening
Why was their concrete wall at end of runway, probably they would have live without wall
It’s amazing how when you hear these people speak they’re playing in character. There’s no real person speaking with any heartfelt emotion at all. They just read their script. It’s amazing. They’re just so sick.
its their job to deliver the news without bias or emotions. Thats like complaining soldiers arent showing emotions when comrades are killed on the battlefield
It's literally their job to hold back emotions and be as objective as possible.
Get your T levels up or your skirt line up.
Cultural difference. Theatrics and hysterics are frowned upon in Asian culture
It's sick how you focus on that. 😢 Come on now.
Maybe the pilot forgot to put the landing gear down because of the pressure he’s having, this is very sad
I think this is the best guess at this point in time. The pilots were distracted by a right engine issue and perhaps some failed hydraulics, and they probably completely forgot to drop the landing gear.
There is an audible warning that would have been screaming at them.
@@BauksI reckon there was a lot going on in that cockpit.
@@jenna-a-gogo Lift the hatch and pull the string .... Takes 3 seconds .... Flying a plane with 1 engine is trivially easy... Engines can and do go out all the time. None of this makes any sense ...
Yes ! Had the landed gear been used and breaks then the crash into wall shouldn’t have happened and they should have been fine …
if it is Boeing, I'm not going.
Strange, very strange, the speed of the plane. How many meters ran?
Unclear why the landing 🛬 gear wasn't deployed?
So sad RIP to all dead condolences to there families
Remember the Qanon thing "The Birds Aren't Real" it was actually about how a $99 Amazon drone could cause a catastrophic engine failure on a giant Airbus for Christmas.
get rid of the CONCRETE WALL OF DEATH NOW
Horrible
Prayers to all that lost their lives
and their family
The plane was fine until it hit that block wall.
Who makes a platform for plastic antennas that freaking robust at the end of a runway?
Had that raised platform of reinforced concrete not been there most of the passengers would be fine right now.
Indeed. That´s the main question now. Whatever went wrong on board of the aircraft - this wall killed the people.
You're kidding me, right? That plane was going incredibly fast and probably would have hit homes or businesses nearby if it didn't blow up anyway. Then we'd have 180+ dead.
@@roberts2642 look at the satellite photos of the airport. There was a block wall further ahead and some roads but homes were much further away. This would not have been a mass casualty event had that reinforced concrete structure not been there.
@NicolaW72 It was surprising to see no landing gear down since that can be manually released. Speculation I have seen so far is that the air crew didn't have time to deploy it. However had they known about that reinforced concrete wall I highly doubt they would have kept such a perfect centerline landing. We will hear on the Cockpit Voice Recorder.
@@Dadof5 I think blaming the concrete wall is the last thing you should blame. How about the pilot?
*THERE IS MORE INFORMATION IN THE COMMENTS THAN WHAT IS REPORTED HERE IN THE VIDEO*
Yes. Their expert didn't know that those barriers are mainly for Sound and also for Security. They don't want some fool driving onto the runway trying to harm a plane that is landing or taking off.
They keep the loud noise down as most airports are located in densely populated areas. They are found at every airport including here in the US!
This is just for my own dumbass to know. I could be a complete and Utter idiot (Strong Possibility! ) but why the hell would you place a cement wall /obstruction, anywhere near either end of a runway!!!!?????? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
it didn't 'veer' off the runway, it ran out of runway. this 'wall' is beyond the end of the runway, and it's actually a mound, not a wall, on the opposite side of normal landing direction, and it houses guidance equipment meant for precision location and landing. the crushpads they mentioned in the video were on the opposite end. The real question is the landing gear, and it's speed.
if this shows, maps.app.goo.gl/a9g7ETK5u66NA4958
Boeing why is no one talking about Boeing again
Because it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the aircraft’s functionality. Not all of us are trying to caste blame or create conspiracies out of nothing.
Yeah its a 15 year old plane, i dont see how boeing is to blame
Construction Company: "I got a 50 % discount on impenetrable concrete slabs".
Airport Engineers: "Cool! Can you install it at the end of the runway?"
Probably - and sadly.
Killing scores? What are we playing a video game
"Scores" in this context means a very large number, not game points.
Use caution watching this slowly as you can clearly see people flying from the aircraft as it disintegrates.
A bird did this? Bro I am never flying again.
How important was in that plane?
Most mainstream media don't point out the dang reinforced concrete wall for the navigational antennae at the end of the runway that probably caused far more damage and casualties than would've occurred if it was constructed properly with a less solid design.
It was constructed properly. That runway was not designed for such a large boeing plane to land on it. Why the pilot decided to land there is unknown.
@yangpaan453 other airports don't have this type of solid wall.
Why is there no video of the plane landing or in the air they just show it sliding i smell sumtin fishy
They are blaming birds for every plane crash
Covid
@@mikelindellspillow2609
Try again dumbass
Not really
Is Russia calling their missiles birds now?
It's so wild to me that nobody has invented something to prevent birds from being sucked into jet engines.
Well you still want to suck air in. You can't put a cage in front of it, because at those speeds, the birds will smash the cage and then the cage goes into the turbine.
Kinda hard to stop a bird from hitting a plane.
Theyve tried. It either obstructs the jet intake/propeller air flow, or adds so much weight its unfeasible. Usually both.
Maybe you could tell God that airplanes are more important than birds.
It really shouldn't matter. Planes can still operate and land safely with one failed engine.
Why is it always the budget airlines that have these catastrophic accidents?
The Legacy carriers have had their share.
Spirit Airlines has never had a crash
Frontier never had a crash
It's not.
@@carlosbaba4216Ftontiers fly Airbuses
Wth. Who made that call?
Those end of seats in planes will be highly preferred now going forward. Survivors from recent crashes were in the tail end of the planes. *RIP* to all impacted. So sad.
Statistically, the rear seats are only ever so slightly safer.
@@jenna-a-gogo You completely missed the point of my narrative.
The Bird 🐦 also Died!,
If only that concrete wall wasn’t there😢
Birdstrike followed by a perfect storm of pilot error. There are tons of redundant systems to drop landing gear on a 737 in any situation with or without hydraulics.
This one isn't on Boeing, it's on the pilots.
So did everyone die? Or did they rescue 2 crew members? I’m lost
Two crew members in the tail survived.
Lord bless these souls what a tragedy
Devastating 💔 I’m so sorry to all those souls and the surviving crew. I’m a former flight attendant this makes me literally sick to my stomach
I feel so sorry for the victim's families. This is horrendous and shouldn't happen. Who is responsible for this?! Plane maintenance is not something to be shrugged.
