The picture at Bondi Beach was delightful. So different from today without an exposed bottom to be seen. Lol.

They were better protected against the effects of the hole in the ozone layer than current people tend to be. Not exactly a holiday through. These people would have probably been local residents

You need to rotate your phone to read the captions. You can also zoom in when using TH-cam.

Did you notice one boy in the front to the left snd the two boys on the far right, the mill workers 1911, weren’t wearing jackets, or shoes? All three were in coveralls and short sleeve t-shirts. Probably very poor and most likely never been to school. They had to do their part to put food on the table for their families…at least I hope they had homes and families. @7:13

@@deemariedubois4916 that’s why people had so many kids. Life expectancy was pretty short. Good chance dad would die early. Needed many extras to bring in earnings. Kids were more seen as adding to survival of family than little future hopefuls.

Hair in the 1920 was about automobiles. Not self expression... I asked my grandmother who was in * her * 20s at the time, and I alsed my mother (WWII generation), and they both looked at me like i was stupid and said, "Cars, of course (... with a roll-of- their - eyes tone of voice).

I detest colorized photos. They present a false view, with the colors having no bearing in reality. They are chosen by the person adding the color and do not represent anything more than their own guess at what the real colors were at the time the photo was taken.

Yourself, no one, everyone. Photography as art. Like a fine painting, it’s just to be enjoyed as you see fit. I see myself, my family, immigrant struggles, happy, sad people. They are just anything and everything you want.
