  • This video is on one of the lesser known pairs of commonwealth foot wear that is easy to reel apart from the other models. This is the Canadian pattern of ammo boot. The easiest way to tell the Canadian para from British made pairs is the vamp stitch and panels being different and the lack of toe caps. These boots would be used from the 30’s into the 60’s by some units. Hopefully you liked this video and subscribed if you like this sort of stuff. Please leave a comment, with any questions, additional information, user experiences, or suggestions for future videos and I will do my best to answer them. As always thanks for watching.

I was issued these boots in 1963. They had rubber soles. I had a shoemaker put in toecaps. We would then use a hot spoon to remove the pebble grain.

@@longzhao8778 It would be hard to tell because the pebble grain had been removed.

Does the tongue extend higher than the British Ammo Boot?

The creases on the leather look like they might be an issue with some plastic coating on the leather rather than simply cause it's dry.

It’s not a plastic coating but it’s a fairly terrible low quality Indian leather.

What do you use to hydrate your boots?

      Depends on the leather
