- I made this video per my husbands request. Not only did he think it was a great idea but he insisted on buying me the vintage kind. He requested this a long time ago but the Coppa laws thing scared me out of doing anything with toys for a while. These Tinker Toys are so old and not so bright and attractive to children I should think. Anyway, what a blast from the past. I loved Tinker Toys when I was "wittle". Still do! What fun this was.

This brings back memories of me and my brother playing with K'nex. We used to collect all the pieces we needed and lay them out orderly and then we would build intricate structures with it. Such sweet memories.

Same here I used to play them when I was in Elementary School 1st and 2nd grade
Reminds me of those long days being left alone at my grandparent's home, filling the time during those long afternoons playing with tinker toys. I also remember pick up sticks, hula hoops, yoyos, superballs, cap guns, gyroscope toys, slot cars, spinning tops, train sets, jacks, on and on. Man, we had lots of cool toys back then!
Are you really Kent?! And your last name is Clark? That is the coolest! I love it. So, you must be somewhere around my age if you remember all these toys. I'm in total agreement with you that they were the best toys and the best days. Now children are all into video games and cell phones. Very little textile experience anymore. My brother had the coolest erector set. He even had of building toy that allowed water to flow through tiny pipes. As a child, I had the Susie Baker oven. It cooked with lightbulbs. Those were the days.
Sitting in grandma's basement which used to actually be the only floor until the current main floor was built atop it, I'd bust these things out and make the most random things: whether it's a wheel with a bunch of random length sticks that I spin around endlessly, a vehicle of sorts resembling a truck, or some other random creation.

Another great video .....Ive been checking a few timeseach day for new uploads and I see you are close to thirty thousand subscribers and im so happy for you! I share your page on my facebook and tell people how greatyou are......better than a dr for sleep issues and anxiety I say...! You have been for me! You have a great day honey! We have been upgrading our garden and working on that for the last two weeks....ten beds now and a large area that is inground burried buckets for our 15 tomato plants and a fence for pole beans and snow peas that my husband has been building...no just useing metal stakes u know.....he does a permanent job and a nice one! So my channel is getting a slow start....but ill get there!

Oh wow! I remember these from the 60's. Tinker toys and Lincoln logs! I spent hours playing with these unforgettable toys. Feels good to relive my childhood through this amazing video. Thank you for your brilliant and most enjoyable ideas😉
No way you’re old enough for that Lana! I have precious memories of my dad getting down on his hands and knees at Christmas time showing us how to play with our new Tinker Toys.

I think sales of retro toys are now going to soar thanks to you! 👍 I love old and classic things. Because I'd never used an old rotary dialling phone and I love the way they look and sound, I bought myself a working 1930s/40s black English telephone and calling people has never been such fun. ☎️ Maybe an idea for a video? Yes! I agree with everything you said. I have a rotary phone. It is in one of my videos but I didn’t feature it because it is not in use. I can’t really afford the phone line. But I could use it as a prop.
@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction That would be perfect! It's the sounds of the phone itself and its mechanisms that are so enjoyable rather than using it properly to speak to people. It's the telephone's play value that really matters - the dialling sound and the clunk of the receiver being put down! Old typewriters have a similar quality especially the powered ones. I'm such an ASMR geek! 🤪

I can almost smell them! I loved tinkertoys growing up and there is a great sensory component in the smell of the wood pieces along with all the amazing wood sounds. Your DH has good taste in ASMR triggers :-)

I loved tinker toys when I was a kid, we had a lot of toys in 70's that stimulated the mind. Tinker toys, spirograph, etch a sketch, etc.

(And they look like cookies hehehe😁) Just as always, it's a huge pleasure seeing your beautiful hands rummaging through things and listening to the mesmerizing wooden sounds! I havent finished watching the video yet, my eyes are already feeling like closing as I'm writing zzzzzzzz What marvelous sounds all around!! ... I m striving to keep my eyes open because I really want to see your hands moving around!! Today I'm very tired and sad, I took a 500km round drive to take my granny back to her place and all of us were very sad, but that's how things had to be done,,, So watching this beauty only brings me comfort and peace. I remember very well about the struggles you all have. I just didn’t realize that it kept you from caring for your grandmother. But I am starting to remember the situation better. I’m so sorry. But on the other hand, this way is probably better for all of you in the long run. but who am I to say? Life is so hard. I’ve been dealt a pretty hard blow just recently. I’ve been under it for a week now. Lots of clouds and shadows.
Remember this great toy in the 60s. Also remember our big shepherd who loved chewing these toys. Ahhhh the great memories.

We had the biggest set of dominos that belonged to my aunt and uncles. They were that blue and yellow plastic and came with loops and tracks and stairs and such. Loved playing with all the toys at my grandparents house

Rebecca, do you think you could do a chalk drawing on a chalkboard? I think chalk makes the richest, loveliest sounds. It reminds me of elementary school being nearly hypnotized while the teacher wrote the math problems on the board. I always hoped we had a ton of problems because I didn't want her to stop. 😴

Thank you Natty. You are a sweetheart. These toys date back to 1914. But the set I have is from the early 60’s I believe. I doubt if too many young people would be familiar with these.

Tinker toys are still around for sure! But they don’t look like this exactly. For the sake of the video I had to keep it very simple because I would have no flow or grace whatsoever if not.
I would’ve had to have all the pieces lined up and ready to go! 😂 Order some of your own from Amazon. They ARE fun to play with!

@Rebecca I can especially relate because, believe it or not, I did get a Red Ryder for Christmas one year, and much like in the movie I had one parent who didn't want me to get a BB gun and another parent who was cool with it.
