Louis commented in his documentary that he really thought the band would get back together someday. I feel this nostalgia to see them together, but I prefer each one's solo career, especially Louis's. Thanks for the reaction.
As someone who knew very little about One Direction and their music until about a year ago when I discovered Harry Styles' solo work, I can relate to many aspects of your musical journey. However, it's interesting what resonates with each of us and what doesn't. For example, I love Zayn's solo music as much as I love Harry's but I can wholeheartedly agree that Harry's charisma as a performer is really next level. I've heard some farfetched rumors that they will reunite for a one-off at the end of April for James Corden last show but Harry has stated that there will only be a 1D reunion if it's "done in the right way," which, to me, means that Zayn will need to be involved. Thanks for your reactions, I really enjoy them.
Just so you know 1989 which I know you have reacted to it most songs from there are about harry . Not only style. Taylor never wrote a "bad" song about harry and they hugged recently so we hope they are friends. Loved your reaction❤❤

13:21 They have said they wrote Made in the AM with the idea fans would be listening to it more so than them performing/touring it. They were able to use different style songs since they would be going on hiatus and would not have a tour to go with it. That being said, in early hiatus times, one of Niall’s reasons for them having to get back together at some point was that they had an album they haven’t toured yet.
I do not think they will get together together as in full time, but I am hoping either for another album or some pointed performances (like benefits or another tv special) one day.
As much as I love Sign of the Times by Harry, there are at least three One Direction songs that I love more. Little things, Right now and Drag me down. And honestly, Liam's first single Strip that down or For you, I can listen to anytime. And yet I'm a huge Harry fan. And Luis's. And Niall's. All the guys are doing well, some are doing better, but none of them can be called unsuccessful. They are too talented for that.

Harry was slowly losing his voice. You can clearly see that he is struggling just to get our his voice. At the last concerts you would tell to the crowd to finish his solos or something. Now he has a much healthier voice and I don't think I'd want them to get back together bc they are more talented on their own .
He was sick so. He has even sang with ear infection. That most be horrible!

I'd say " If I Could Fly" Which Harry wrote as well is better than "Sign of the Times" but maybe thats just me.
Louis and liam really did think that the break was temporary. Harry is the one who didn't want to get back together. And we all understand why Harry didn't want 1D back. He had bigger and better plans for himself.
Actually, they all started out having plans for themselves. None of them auditioned on the X factor to be in a band. It was a means to an end. They had the choice to continue as a band or go home.

I think when people say they went non stop for 5 years they literally mean non stop. They were writing and recording their next album while on tour for their current album. Most nights they got very little sleep because they’d get off stage and then go and write or record. Then be at rehearsal the next day and perform the next show. There’s a clip of Zayn being woken up after being asleep for 5 minutes to go and record after getting off stage. And they were recording in hotel rooms most of the time so they could do it on the go.
However, I think they look tired in this for different reasons. For one Harry is sick. In other interviews around this time he had to type out what he wanted to say because he was told he could talk or sing. And they were all definitely sad that they were stopping. Louis was taking it very hard because he didn’t want to stop.

One direction san siro where we are
I honestly have to credit Liam for getting me into any of their music. I was in my late twenties and worked at a retail store for a while that sold some One Direction merch that was geared towards teen girls. It was 2014-2015 and I had never heard any of One Direction's music despite them being one of the largest musical acts in the world. I never went out of my way to listen to it and didn't really listen to pop stations aside from what played on the corporate preset of songs on repeat at the store. I was an emo kid at heart but I also grew up on 90's country and classic rock. I love classical and jazz/swing music too. Pop is just not my go to... but once in a while there's a good bop and I dig it. I was a huge Backstreet Boys fan as a kid. I also have a maybe not so guilty pleasure for British pop groups.
The only name I remember hearing anything about during this time was Harry Styles. However, I heard Liam's "Strip That Down" when I worked in an upbeat salon setting and thought it was super catchy and then found out he was one of the members of One Direction. This was 2017-18 I believe, and I fell down the rabbit hole that is 1D. I found myself watching any and every video I could find. I completely fell in love with the group, especially Louis. I was so excited to dig into his solo music once I found out about it and was so elated that he went more in the alternative direction. These boys are all super talented in their own way. Obviously, Harry has been extremely successful since the hiatus. I'm not a Harry fan, don't care for his music, but I think he is very talented. I have to wonder if they thought that it was going to be a short break, that was perhaps why Liam and Harry put out records so quickly. I agree with what you said in a previous video in this series - that Liam has the best voice when you just listen. His performances seemed to change the more he tried to numb himself. Liam thought he knew what he wanted to do for a sound, but I don't' think it works for him all the time and when it does, he seems to be collaborating with other artists. Louis took his time knowing it would take him time to find it once he realized they weren't getting back together as quickly as he hoped. I wish Liam would have done the same. I am curious to see what his next album will sound like. I know Louis has written songs for Liam in hopes that he would take him up on some - that would be interesting. Nial, I believe, had a somewhat easy transition being as he plays guitar and knew his sound fairly soon as well. I'm very excited to see how each of their careers progress. I'd love to see them perform together for a special event even if they don't actually tour or make another album, but I will live if they don't.
Actaully Liam didn't know what to do with his sound at all. Strip that down was given for him by Ed Sheeran and he said he wouldn't be able to say no and because the song got big, the producers wanted for him to put out more songs like that. He himself said in a podcast once that he doesn't believe he himself is as sexual as his songs make him out to be, but that was something that his managment thought would get the attention. He himself didn't had many songs written by himself even tho year before album came out, he said he wrote close to 30 songs and only 4 songs on the album have his writing credits. Bonus tracks that are not available on streaming, are written by him 4 out of 5, which is the same number as the whole album that has like 18 songs in it. And his team wouldn't put them on the main album. He himself said he doesn't feel the music was right for him which is why he never toured the album.
@@xxShadowOfTheWolfxx also I think and what I have gathered from his interviews is that he was also so tired of following the band's image- like they weren't allowed to write overly sexual songs (at least not straightforward) and their every move was controlled by the management, and they had to maintain this good boy image (especially Liam as he was marketed as the Daddy of the grp). I feel like he just desperately wanted to go in a completely different direction than the band to shake off the image that was created for him. It wasn't really him and he regrets it now

Hi, I like your videos and your honest reactions. But the "if you are enjoying work, you'll not get tired" I know that you guys don't know about the history and all because you react to their performances, but the boys were really overworked. There were interviews where they said that the only time they get to sleep is on planes, they sleep for approximately 2-3 hours, there were recordings in between those sleeping times because they recorded in their hotel rooms. But I get what you mean which is why I personally prefer their solo careers. They have more chance to be the boss and say no.

I think the whole Taylor/Harry thing was simple PR and they were never together. In fact, their 'relationship' is taught as a perfect PR stunt in college courses. It led to massive increases in ticket sales for both 1D and Swift.

For me Night Changes, Spaces or Home are better songs than Sing of the times. I don't get tired of them. Everytime I hear SotT (or Watermelon sugar) in the supermarket I want to bang my head on a wall. It was fine until the 50 time... I have the same problem with Adele 😂 or What makes you beautiful from One Direction.
History was a double edge sword. Talking about the band. Also it’s rumored to be written for the fans and the band having this history. I’ll remind you when they. Decided on “hiatus” Louis insisted on a length of time. So it was 18 months. Liam and Louis got together often to continue writing songs together and for the band in the future. Others solo stuff Harry, and others break to rest. The entire band did not really know or believe at the time that it would really be the end. That’s why Louis suffered such heartbreak with the realization down the road. He lived for the band and never saw his own solo career not want it. Also perfect about Taylor? Anyway hope you’ll eventually let go that 1D did anything about Taylor. Dated 2 months PR or real. There was no love their. Sorry. 😢 Taylor was known for using things for making popular songs about guys. Maybe 2 about Harry. Yes, I think guys were really melancholy in this performance. love this reaction thanks for diving deeper and putting up with James!
