Racing in the Streets is Born to Run with the Brakes on . A portrait of another America we don't often see . That is the Genius of Bruce . Just add Thunder Road for good measure .
I went to the 1978 Darkness on the Edge Town tour and it was not just a concert but a religious experience. It was rock music as it was meant to be: full of power, energy, joy and redemption of the soul.
Wow. Best Racing ever. I've bought a bunch of concerts from Bruce's website, but I've skipped this one because so much of it is on the live box set. I will finish this sentence and get out my credit card.
I have been a fan of The Boss' music since my older brother first played Born In The USA. I did not see him in concert until 1999 and then again in 2002. Between those two concerts I heard all of his best songs. Since then I have turned my son on to his music. His music encapsulates so much about our country. For those detractors of everything that is great about the USA; I simply say: America Love It or Leave it!
Well said brother and I to have always played and educated my son on Bruce and I love your statement bc there are to many that live in the land of the offended I love my USA and my Bruce what a great combo
I don’t know man. Not sure that’s what Bruce is saying. He’s not telling anyone to leave far as I can tell. Or to do anything in particular. A lot of people don’t really listen to Bruce’s lyrics. Born in the USA is not a rah rah song either. We are born where we are born. It ain’t our choice. Some are born real lucky. Others don’t stand a chance. We all do the best we can do. And we try not to hurt anyone in the process but sometimes we do. And no matter our sins we ought to seeks redemption. But nothing says we’re gonna get it.
Beautiful version. I love how he used to actually sing his songs, rather than 'grumbling' them like he's been doing the past decade. He said in his Broadway stage show that he had never even actually driven a car before he wrote this classic song!
Ijust had a thought-Bruce -have you any idea the ammount of heart breaking bEAuty you have unleashed wih this song??BY THE WAY WE WE WE ARE IN LOVE WITH YOU -THANKS MATE
The best fifteen minutes of piano in the history of music. If you're going to go deaf, do it for a good reason

For all the shutdown strangers and hot rod angels rumbling through this Promised Land...

Well said!
Pure and absolute ENVY from a spaniard 1973' fan!!! ;-)
I wasn’t there but I know exactly how you felt bc I have felt it as well it’s pretty amazing
O god
Take it easy guys
Best story ever written and put to music. Legendary
Ooh, that spoken intro to Thunder Road gives me chills every time I hear it.
One of my favorite pieces of Springsteen music is the segue between these two songs. It's transcendent.
I loved the piano segue so much I had it transcribed. Its available on tunescribers.com
Totally agree!
I really want to thank Bruce for bringing the talent of Roy bitten to life. ❤

Roy's extended solo on Racing at the 2024 Asbury Park show was nothing short of brilliance. A master on the keyboard.
This is the land of peace, love, justice and no mercy. Good lord what an intro!
This is the land of peace, love, justice and no mercy…
saw him at the colosseum in LA while Clarence was still around. four hours of paradise.
I think Roy Bittan is such an underrated part of the E St Band. How many Bruce songs rely on that gorgeous, cinematic piano?
One of his best. One of the E Street Bands finest moments. That's saying something
Clarity of music, sound, rhythm is amazing. So different from stadiums. Great
I've been listening to this BOOTLEG since I won the record on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights.
All these years later it has not lost the magic!!!
It never will!
'Piece de resistance ' i recall it was -beautiful
And it's never going to lose its magic. It's Bruce Springsteen how can it
NO words to describe this feeling........
Just one. WOW
15:34 minutes in glory !!!! Not wanting it to ever end . ❤Bruce ❤ The E Street Band ❤
excellent encapsulation of grittier side of america_big thanks for sharing tender moments_

One of the great masters of all time.
Listening to two of my favorite Springsteen songs live back on this amazing tour never fails to bring joy and heartache to me. Thanks for posting.
My 3 favs all begin with Roy leading in with his piano….
Armonica delizia x le orecchie grazie

How have I missed this version for so long?
