Daniil reminds me of the old players from the 70's and 80's. He has a style all his own. I think kids are coached too much these days and anything unique they might have is coached out of them. But Daniil is living proof that even in modern tennis, it is better to let a player be themselves.

Definitely agree, for example numerous coaches would’ve told Alcaraz to stop trying his drop shots because they were low percentage shots from that far away. Now he has one of the best weapons in the game.

Woah, getting a call back from someone like Med must feel awesome. Congrats! Daniil is just so calm and casual during these warm-ups, it really shows how much pressure the top guys are under when performing in front of thousands of people with millions of dollars on the line .
But also how cool was seeing two top players sharing the practice court, I suppose it happens a lot. There's a lot less animosity between the players than the fans like to imagine and Medvedev seems like a guy you'd have fun hanging out with on a Saturday night.

PLUS to do it at Indian Wells, a tournament he is never done well at is pretty amazing. I was very disappointed at his level in the final but like I said, it's a mix of Alcaraz being untouchable and Daniil probably being pretty fatigued mentally and physically after the run he's been on. @Gladiators Tennis honestly the entertainment, the tennis insight, the superstar tennis player, the honest wide eyed narration, to me this is unmatched content. Its a whole new level, and I loved your channel before. I'm 54 years old but I still behold tennis like a child. This stuff just keeps me going. Keep up the good work!

      @@gladiatorstribe Absolutely!!
I watched an entire interview of him in French and he has excellent French.
It's funny because i used to dislike him just watching casually and some of his antics on the court annoyed me, however after watching a lot of his post match interviews and more of his games he became my favorite player of all times. He's a genuine guy who always gives props to his opponents, very down to earth, no excuses.
His game is just insanely out of the box and fun to watch.

Cool video, man. Medvedev is the man! Love him as a player & person. He's very unorthodox and unique on the courts, and a fiercely articulate, intelligent guy. Will be interesting to see how well he does at RG & Wimbledon this year. Go Meddy!

  • @noahhenderson3164

Well medvedev returns most of his shots far from the baseline and is a baseline player at heart. He needs to get used to hitting while a player is standing straight at the net, as many players will come forward during the rally or serve+volley him. Makes sense to me why he would practice this.
Also holy h-ll is danil funny. I love his rants, and he seems the exact kind of character out of the game as he is in it. Good for him
