Simon from Top Tennis Training was saying that prize money at futures didn't increase from the 90's until 2017 or so. When he was on the circuit he was staying at dorms in hostels and sometimes slept at train/bus stations because he couldn't make a good enough living to stay at a proper hotel. ITF needs to be thrown in the scrap heap, the sport shouldn't just be accessible to players with sponsors or rich parents.
come on, it's tennis and this sport is designed for upper class. if one has no money just switch to ping-pong or anything else. Tennis isn't suppoused for everyone cuz its expensive infrastructure
You need tennis clubs with club teams, and the players in the club subsidize the teams , that can play each other. Tennis needs a lot of individual coaching compared to say basketball it will always be expensive.
I loved the UTR system when I was playing tournaments. My average UTR was 12.0 over a 2.5 year period. In that time period, I was 1-12 against players with higher UTRs than mine and 25-1 against players with lower UTRs than mine. It's an incredibly accurate system and very valuable for players to see the reality of their level clearly.

The whole point of a tennis tournament in most cases is precisely that everything rides on every match. Take away that pressure and you're playing another game. The end-of-season 'championships' are a joke making money off the tennis rubes. There is no great demand on the tour for more bottom-of-the-barrel players who can't get through successive rounds.
UTR is intriguing. Looks like it is a bit easier for you guys to survive financially. Future tournament funding is scandalous. Also, streaming coverage is great thing. However, I can’t find my way to see results, tournament draws and all that stuff without being a member. 🤷♂️
There are a lot of UTR tournaments in the US for all levels from UTR 1 to the top (UTR 16). It’s a very flexible way to play, they have flex leagues where you arrange the game with your opponent after the UTR has made the draw. Ratings are live and moving all the time, must more precise and accurate than the US Tennis Association where is the ratings are only changed once a year… 😱😂

I found a coach for myself, and today was my 9th lesson. I was able to play with him 10 times already😁😁😁. I really like the videos on your TH-cam channel, and I've learned a lot from watching them too. But here's my question... Could you recommend 1-2 specific tennis rackets that are suitable for a beginner but also of good quality? I can order them from the United States, so that's not a problem. I am 1.68 meters tall and not big in terms of physical build. I'm not sure if this is relevant for the advice, but there you have it. I think I need a racket that weighs around 280 -290 grams (I don't want something super heavy for now). I would prefer a balance point around the middle or slightly towards the handle, and currently, I play with grip size 2. Also, I believe a larger head size would be beneficial to easily hit the ball. Was thinking about 1 - BLADE 100UL V8 281grams 2 - Yonex EZONE 100L 285grams 3 - Yonex VCORE 100L 280grams 4 - Pure Aero Team 285 grams Thank you in advance.

how do you get a rating tho if the minimum required is 12.5? I am playing I'd say pretty solid with friends being top players in their local leagues and beating them sometimes. I dont have a club rating or anything that I could "transfer". I guess just hope for Wildcards?
at least the UTR ranking is better than other ranking and it is international and it's work for all level and it mixes female and male and it's accurate no need to play 80 matches per year like the french ranking (in my case) !

There’s this hit called a volley. Off the serve or in the middle of the game. So many of those rallies went on for way too long for no reason at all. Just run to the net, volley and score.

I feel like UTR is way more accurate. WTN seems to fluctuate a ton and it takes in like all results in past 4 years or something while utr is just 30 matches from past year.
so basically UTR is a format thought up by some people with an "algorithm", and deep pockets. you say even if you lose to some people that are stronger than you your rating goes up. but how will that motivate a player to actually win. and if you win against that some won stronger, doesn't mean that your opponent is actually stronger, and you are not weaker. in tennis and in life you need that hurdle of not getting much if you lose, which motivates you to actually train yourself to become strong enough as a player to beat tough players. UTR system is just like they are doing in schools these days (6 years after I graduated) even if you do badly we will praise you to the high heavens and leave you there, and when reality check comes in the form of ATP tour, those players on that cloud called UTR rating will get crushed. if you keep getting more points and more prize money even by losing very early especially in the early days of your sport career, then who would want to actually strive to win, other than those 10% players who have the drive to reach the podium(these players will drive themselves to the podium even without the UTR). So an "clever Algorithm" and a deep pockets organization is not enough to toughen up players to survive the rigors of ATP tour and the slams. the lowest rung in the ladder should always be grueling and excruciating. only then will we find those diamonds in the rough. and the ATP tour will help polish them for the slams to shine in. ITF despite being shallow pockets does an excellent job at finding those diamonds. while UTR is just saying "win or lose, you will survive." which is not a good way to find those diamonds. those diamond like players are what determine the quality of the sport not tour pampering tours like the UTR.

Very clear definition of the two tennis formats. Was pulling for both of you but dude, you got to clean up your language. I mean what's the point of cursing? Keep in mind, you can get more supporters and keep them, when the act is clean..
By the way, you guys should look into high tops. Every since I turned my ankle really bad playing basketball back in the early 80s, high tops have helped me tremendously. I now use them to play tennis.
Unfortunately the whole sport has been completely dictated by commercial self interests to slow the game and increase there wealth . the game and athlete is tertiary. Because of there interests , and not the public which ultimately funds at least impart the prize money , have no say because that is now all they know . The game is disrespected from all sides because, it is not true to itself . Everyone just follows suit because they are ignorant , or just do not care that the few in the industry are dictating a game they never created . Slow balls on even slower courts , all in drag . Premium balls are designed for a back of court game . The serve / volley all court game needs speed , faster courts or at least faster balls on grass and hard court to neutralize the play of the game . Instinctually this creates better athletes .
Roootaaaate on your second serve!! What are you doing man, looks like somekind of acrobatics. Just rotate you shoulders and hit through the ball. Because you dont do this you dont get any topspin or power and just end up slicing your second. And most importantly this is why your lower back is blowing out as you putting stress on it by not rotating through the serve. Your racquet should finish on your the left side after serving, and you should be landing on your right foot

Very clear definition of the two tennis formats. Was pulling for both of you but dude, you got to clean up your language. I mean what's the point of cursing? Keep in mind, you can get more supporters and keep them, when the act is clean..
By the way, you guys should look into high tops. Every since I turned my ankle really bad playing basketball back in the early 80s, high tops have helped me tremendously. I now use them to play tennis.

Unfortunately the whole sport has been completely dictated by commercial self interests to slow the game and increase there wealth . the game and athlete is tertiary. Because of there interests , and not the public which ultimately funds at least impart the prize money , have no say because that is now all they know . The game is disrespected from all sides because, it is not true to itself . Everyone just follows suit because they are ignorant , or just do not care that the few in the industry are dictating a game they never created .
Slow balls on even slower courts , all in drag . Premium balls are designed for a back of court game . The serve / volley all court game needs speed , faster courts or at least faster balls on grass and hard court to neutralize the play of the game . Instinctually this creates better athletes .

Roootaaaate on your second serve!! What are you doing man, looks like somekind of acrobatics. Just rotate you shoulders and hit through the ball. Because you dont do this you dont get any topspin or power and just end up slicing your second. And most importantly this is why your lower back is blowing out as you putting stress on it by not rotating through the serve. Your racquet should finish on your the left side after serving, and you should be landing on your right foot

@@gladiatorstribe haha wow my bad, i cant turn it off! But you're a great player, with very few technical flaws, volleys great, forehand great, backhand awesome, first serve good, just second serve needs work, and that's it's problem.
