Interesting discussion about how ratings are becoming top heavy in a lot of media. I live in Japan, and one thing that took me a while to realize and get used to was that when you look at reviews on Google maps, restaurant reviews on Japanese sites, or even craft beer sites like untappd, the review scores tend to be lower than what I was used to when living in America. People here tend to start in the middle, so maybe a 2.5/5, then go from there by adding half a point if there was something unique or interesting about the place/product being reviewed. So a score of 3.5/5 is actually quite good here. It took me a while to get used to the "lower" scores, but it does make more sense than what I was used to seeing.
Great episode, thanks for sharing my daughter's poster, super proud!
Very much a guilty pleasure watching drumeo vids!
