Passat Rear Door Cable, Handle and Latch Repairs (Updated)

This video takes you through the removal and installation of the rear drivers-side door panel on a 2005 VW Passat GLX Wagon (2.8L B5). Our mission was to troubleshoot and repair the door latch cable, however, our adventure mushrooms into full door handle assembly removal after the golden ring (of pain) falls inside the door panel. During this ride you will understand how to fully disconnect the glass and remainder of the door's parts to easily troubleshoot your situation. An important point is to make sure the final adjusting screw position for the door latch (after all parts installed) is five (5) turns counter clockwise from the stop/cranked position. That ensures the ring will stay in position. Good Luck!

was trying to open the rear driver side door on my b5 passat and when finally managed to do so, that golden ring fell and I had no idea how it worked and etc, your video really helped me a lot and now I got it all assembled, cheers from brazil
