I think there’s also a lack of variation in the superhero theme. The comics sub range barely gets any rep then MCU they recycle the designs all the time but each MCU characters entry has a new costuke
Goated video. I'm starting to think the overall price hike that LEGO has taken is not from ABS plastic costs but specifically royalties and negotiations with Disney. There are other franchises which seemingly have a great figure selection, great piece count, great build, all while maintaining classic LEGO prices, and yet when you examine the executive choices surrounding Disney IPs, you tend to see the opposite. Rather than shift this blame in the public eye onto a corporation they do business with, it's probably better to create a red herring like the former. Also, we really don't have any concept of cost increase when LEGO chooses to use dual-molded arms and legs, or leg and arm printing, yet it's consistently referred to by LEGO fans as something that was avoided to optimize profits (Even though LEGO could probably just always use it when applicable?). Take specifically the X-Jet, the CMFs, and the Mansion. The best Wolverine, Rogue, and Beast is in the CMFs. The build, and exclusive Magneto is in the X-Jet. The LESSER Wolverine, and Rogue, yet BEST Cyclops are in the Mansion. To say that there was no planning about this is absurd. I don't mind feeling like I need an entire set wave to have a complete collection. I just mind when it feels like a loss to participate in such. (Having redundant and subordinate copies of figures that could've been swapped with new entries into the LEGO Marvel selection.) Intuitively, the designers have a passion for, and truly care about comic accuracy, build quality, selection, etc. When the X-Mansion designer was talking about his attempt to bring Deadpool in, ("They were just saying "Shut up, Mark" ") there's clearly a communication gap between presumably the people that make the franchising and economic choices, and just people who design the set to the highest degree. I'm sure theres been times where a Marvel designer will give a figure leg or arm printing or dual molds and have it be axed by a different party.
The fact that Mr. Burns is still one of the only green suits in LEGO is ridiculous. Also there are so many mutants fans would love to see: Forge, Jubilee, Archangel, Colossus, Psylocke, Longshot, NIGHTCRAWLER!! LEGO doesn’t realize how popular X-Men is I think…
Maybe they do know how popular it is and know that it will sell at this price regardless of figure quality 🤷🏻♂️ And that’s crazy I need to order a Mr Burns minifig now 😭
I think another reason behind it is community engagement. Lego knows people can and will make videos on fixing minifigures from specific sets, and if that makes more people aware of the set's existence. Just my 2 cents on the topic.
hot take: I DO NOT think the Zelda and LoTR ones look better. not at all because they’re JUST Zelda and LoTR. Marvels’ are always better. Even if they’re not flooring the turbo, they’re still much much superior in looks
Definitely hot take! But we love to hear it. The Marvel CMF especially has some of the best and most detailed figures. The variety of Marvel figs blows the LoTR and Zelda lineup out of the water.
I think the problem is that no matter how overpriced it is, the fanboys and shills will always step out and buy it. The amount of people I‘ve already seen justifying the overpriced sail barge, desert skiff, etc. Same with the x mansion „oh but it has the first gambit“ in it. And you two seem to be part of the problem tbh saying that you‘ll still buy it for full price.
True, but why show jean in the thumbnail. That was a great fig with entirely new pieces and an additional shoulder pad. The character herself has plain legs. Its characters like captain America where the issue lies. The fact that he still uses plain blue legs is criminal.
She is definitely a “bare minimum” minifigure. Yeah, it’s recognizable, but she has blue gloves/ gauntlets in the show that could have easily been dual molded in Lego. And since when does she have flared up shoulder pads? Seems like a weird/ wrong piece usage.

Fully agree 100%
At least Marvel gets somewhat decent minifigures, DC has been starving for any minifigures outside of Batman characters
@ true that! It went from Batman, DC Superheroes to Batman again. Hopefully superman legacy means popular sets. But I commented on the marvel strand

bro just wrote a whole book
Nice essay! F+ (You would have got a B, but you didn't put your name at the top.)
@@Raventrap 6 words that will never be used in reference to you.
@@1-Cørps-1 My name is at the top tho
@@judicator9837 I take it back. You get a B!!!
Professor X looks like Lex Luthor
Exact same head 🤦🏻♂️
@sakugabuilds exactly, could of got a new print
I think the MCU figures are fine.. its the comic book characters that need help 😭😭😭😭
The Wanda minifig downgrade from the cmf to the sanctum modular is the worst one yet
To be fair, her custom in the movie is also a downgrade
I did buy the set and aside from professor x I was satisfied with every minifigure in the set
Professor X should probably be the most important minifig considering it’s HIS SCHOOL 🤦🏻♂️
I’ll give you professor X, but putting Jean and Captain America on the thumbnail is crazy

@ he’s about $20 now… I’ll get one after I get this set lol.

That would be WILD 😭😭😭😭

Finizen ? I hardly even know her
Looks like we have a real one on our hands 🔥🚨🔥🚨🔥🚨

Yep, I said in the video that I am the problem 👍🏻😔

If i could change one thing it would be giving them plain dual molded legs, they would look so perfect with those, cmon lego
