Really appreciate this one, i always have the problem of playing punch shots too much or im not controlling the jumping of the cueball enough. Big thank you
I’ve joined a snooker club to practice and af ter two weeks of going, I got an invitation to a snooker team. Thank you for the videos they really helped
Great videos. Could you maybe do something on the power shot pull-back from distance? I can stop the cue ball from a distance of maybe 10 feet or more, and maybe even pull it back a few inches, but I’ve never been able to achieve those long pull-backs to the baulk line that pros like Judd can do. I’d be happy to achieve just a few feet instead of a few inches from long distance.
Well explained boss, useful to no the punch throws the cue ball wider....needed many times in break building or clearing in pool 🎱 cheers chief from Derby 👍
Thanks for that video. Now I know what I'm doing wrong all the time. I play (occasionally) since 2005 and didn't notice that I (almost) always punch the white. I will focus on changing that now ... well, once I can play again after that C19 thing is over.
I think I’ve been playing push shots without realizing all this time. Really informative video and funny as well. Ps: have you ever attempted that Stephen Maguire shot where he potted the red and white against Neil Robertson
Interesting topic, however very niche. I think the number of shots you play where an actual punch is necessary is very small, like that bounce around the blue ball. And the shots you play while explaining aren't all punch shots, a lot of them are just power-struck close to the cueball center. Like when you explained with the two reds by the black, I would say I can get to all of those positions without bouncing the white, just by using the right amount of power and spin. When you played the blue and 'punched' it to avoid the corner pocket, what I saw was the cueball just had more speed, so after it hit the blue it takes a bit longer to establish its running line, that's why it misses. It doesn't have to bounce off the blue to do that. Anyways, the gloves were hilarious, I challenge you to record a break using those :) you can probably do two reds two blacks, right?
Hey man now you're talking Alex Higgins shooting that cue ball up in the air and spinning out of the pocket along the top of the cushion. Wow you know your stuff but I still haven't seen you pull that shot off yet. Maybe you're scared or respect the man as you should but I'd still love to see that shot again man. Thanks 4 the break.💜✌™
You laboured the jumping the cue ball thing quite a bit. You can widen the angle of the cue ball just with more power and less spin. I'm pretty sure I could play the majority of these shots without going out of my way to focus on jumping the cue ball. Sure it's handy very occasionally, but I think it ruins your consistency and should generally be avoided.
Rolling shots can increase potting success on good table as it's less demanding on accuracy. Punch shots can increase potting success on poor table by avoiding ball drifting. So whenever possible, avoid punch shots on good table and rolling shots on poor table.
Most beginners play most of their shots as punch shots without realising it. Experienced players know the trick of punch shots and play it when needed, although they don't call it a specific name.
Can you go back to making some historic videos, talking about the history of the game and competitions like the crucible and the masters. I don't understand why when Alex Higgins won his first world title there was only a handful of century breaks in the entire competition and now we have numerous centuries every game. Has the standard increased that much or the equipment and tables are better leading to more consistency.
“…but the punch shot doesn’t roll on at all”, while proceeding to show footage of a punch shot rolling on…just not as much as a shart (follow through for the uneducated)
If you think you can increase your comment count just by deliberately inserting a spelling error in your thumbnail well think again, do you think we're dumb.....

Love punching a shot, especially if your trying to stun the white but its close to the cushion.
What cloth do you use for your table and how often do you change it.Also how does it perform as it wears with time.

Is this really a type of shot or you are the only one who teach that

Recreate the famous Alex Higgins break against Jimmy White...the whole break 😬

Lol the boxing gloves.. could you have created a new spin off, maybe called "boxooker"
Yeah probably should have thought about that more
@@Breakfromlife Great upload anyway, thanks for tips. 👍
Did you just re explain stun run through shots in another way????
The cue ball goes a wider angle in a punch shot than a stun run through. You can also make use of the punching effect on screw shots.
I always assumed a stun shot was played with a "punch". I.e no or little follow through.
Look at the balls when Ronnie plays, they are jumping around like jumping beans..
