I'm looking into building a modular gaming desk right now and I want to thank you for the ideas and knowledge I found in this video I have some design changes to make now that I know of all these other connectors like how you bolted the tabletop to the frame.
U can get many types of designs from our range of workbenches. I’ve listed most of them on the website already. This should save you a lot of money. Thealuminumcarpenter.com
The exact reason it's not worth it for workshops. I think it is an awesome way to build 'industrial' looking office desks and such. Then, it becomes a value! For the shop? Cheap lumber 2x4, 2x6, 4x4s, and some ply? Not doing anything stronger or better than that! By the time you properly cross brace your legs, the cost just keeps going up and up on metal. Looks like fun to work with though. On my bucket list of materials to try!
For the tabletop brackets, get the brackets placed and then mark the hole locations on the table underside. Then remove the table and drill/tap. Easier than flipping the table Looks great
This is a really neat build. Isel-Automation do some great flat aluminium profile for workbench work surfaces with T-Slots at different spacings. You can fix tools to the worktop and still adjust the position later and the profiles are much lighter than wood.
Please make a Growbox, because it will soon be legal in germany ( 120cm * 120cm * 200cm ) I know a lot of people who do not like tents and want a closet that looks good.
Not sure yet, i unsure abt the demand until you mentioned it. And due to the vast amt of videos backlogs, i am currently overwhelmed with editing and building. Pls let me know what is the demand from your country 😊

Hello! Amazing work! I am kind of curious though, is it better if you put the horizontal support beams the way you did, or on top of the legs where the weight and the support beams are completely perpendicular to the table legs rather than the load being parallel to the legs? I've seen it being done both ways, but I don't know which way is better.
@@TheAluminumCarpenter Of you don’t mind describing why, I’d love to learn. Basic physics would suggest that putting them on top of the legs would be better. I understand that there is often more to things than the most basic answer and I’m curious about what the relevant concepts are here. Thanks!
would it be strong enough if you didnt have that giant lip at the front? or move it more to the middle so you sit with legs touching the wood instead of metal? or you could make it like half the size, also in my scenario i would use it as a desk
Its Kelvin’s required design. His weight requirements. I made it for him accordingly. You are right in all your scenarios, it just depends on the user.
This build is easily 1k with all the profiles and fasteners. If you're doing something simple as a table then use lumber. It will be cheaper and rigid. This table definitely has some shake to it.
I disagree with the 1K, due to drastic price differences in different countries and for my country, lumber is expensive. So we are on opposites. And this table has no shake nor flex.
Great video! What is the approximate weight capacity on a bench of this size, and is there an easy and practical way to add casters so it could easily be moved around a shop?
Weight is up to the strength of the horizontal extrusion, but this table wasn't built to take abuse. Its for light battery repair work. Adding castors, its easy. We made so many structures on castor wheels. You can browse the designs all over our website : thealuminumcarpenter.com , hope this helps.
@@TheAluminumCarpenterThanks. I found your designs after I commented. I'm actually looking to build a large DJ booth on casters, with both an under shelf and an upper-tier half-depth shelf. Your designs give me an idea of how I'd have to go about designing it.
Few hundreds. I cant recall. But seriously materials differ in prices all over the world. I can bring costs down doesnt mean someone else can do that too. It depends on shipping.

Adding music to a DIY demo is the fastest way to ruin the video, hurt the ears, and irritate the viewers. DO NOT ADD MUSIC. Add natural building sounds. We all like that and it is instructive. This is not an exclusively 'Man' cave table. it works for women too. I am female and need a garage worktable for my saws and projects. Don't be sexist and call it a 'man cave' table. It is a project table that works for DIY, Woodworking, Construction, Crafting, Sewing, Gardening, and for Office work. If you added folding brackets instead of stiff ones at the leg joint, it would also be a Camping table. This is what I am looking for. Folding legs. Good video and demo, thank you!
Respect your views. Not sexist. My video launched yesterday shows 2 females as my fellow builders. It is youtube keyword SEO reasons that i came up with man cave. Appreciate all views here. Dont worry.

Nail file
Yes i have a mitre saw. But no. They were ordered pre-cut, precise accurately cut.
Is this rigid enough?
It really depends what you put onto it.
whats the total cost of production?
In production, are you referring to the beginning of planning stage to the end of the video production?
But how much did it cost?
Few hundreds. I cant recall. But seriously materials differ in prices all over the world. I can bring costs down doesnt mean someone else can do that too. It depends on shipping.

I’d estimate it around US$200. I cant tell fully cos I utilized so many scraps in the workshop for this build. 🙂 hope this may help.
