I completely agree - this was such a heavy, eye-opening experience to see how they are trying to survive... not in the jungle, but from outside influence! 🤯
@@livinghope1561 that's the thing they don't need..in the name of jesus you have already fucked up life of so many indigenous people in North-east India and converted them with money and destroyed their indigenous culture which their ancestors followed for thousands of years..the indigenous culture is the best for them and for nature
These kinds of interactions are exactly the reason I started following Gareth so many years ago. I love being able to see deeper inside a community by someone who respects and embraces traditions. Aren’t these human experiences what we all hope to get from travelling? Awesome vid!
That conversation with the young man (father) was so deep and meaningful. Hope this reaches more viewers and audience. Nature is our mother indeed and we have to take care of her as she grows older. ❤

Growing up in the Piappocco tribe in the Colombian rain forest this reminds me of home. What I see over the years is for these indigenous people to survive is to become bilingual and become activists as civilization encroaches. Gareth, thank you for sharing this amazing look at the Zaparo people and their way of living! Keep up the good work and be safe. You do have some good soccer moves!

What an amazing video!! I was brought up in Ecuador. Born in California from an Ecuadorian father and a mother from Massachusetts. Wow, this was such a fascinating look into a completely different way of life! The connection to nature and the community’s traditions are truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing this glimpse into their daily routines and culture it's amazing to see how they live in harmony with the jungle.
As someone who has had a number of similar experiences in the Oriente (amazon region) of Ecuadpr visiting indigenous communities I think you succeeded in conveying the special quality of their lives living sustainably in the rainforest. In order to protect the rainforest from more depredations of corporate interests it is essential that the rights of indigenous communities be upheld and protected.. Through videos like this one people can get a good sense of what sustainable living is all about not only in the tropical rainforest but in general.
It's incredible to see how these tribes live in harmony with nature, relying on ancient traditions and wisdom passed down through generations. Their connection to the environment is truly inspiring.
Gareth, amazing video! I love seeing the daily lives of different cultures. You really dive deep into all the aspects of their lives. I love it! Love your positive vibes and down to earth nature. I really enjoyed watching and will be checking out the rest of your videos. Thankyou for spreading awareness about these amazing people, I believe they are living the right way.
The start of this series was worth the wait. Questions: 1. How many of the kids leave when they come of age? 2. Is that a daily search for breakfast? Or was that meant to be a memorable outing? You could feel the pride when he said, "This is the only wealth we have." You can understand why they fight to protect it.
Thank you so much! 🙏 To answer your questions... 1. A lot of them will go back-and-forth into Puyo to go to college or work, and then will come back to the community whenever they can catch a flight (or long hike). 2. Usually they eat what we had for lunch (fish, yucca, banana, chicha) for breakfast - only when they're out in the jungle (hunting, working, trekking) will they eat these grubs. 3. Yeah, that statement hit hard! They were such amazing kids!! Thanks as always for watching @Christopher!
Hi! Most of the youth stay in the community as they grow! In the past often kids left for school and work so the community set up systems so they don’t have to leave. There is now a high school in addition to elementary and the community created a eco tourism center called Naku to receive visitors and create income opportunities inside the jungle.

Thanks for bringing us there! Such an amazing experience for you. Btw, the liver which they call igado, we also have that dish in the Philippines, liver and pork as its main ingredients. ❤
Thank you for watching! ❤️ I love liver, in so many forms and so good for you too! I can't wait to get back to the Philippines one day!! 🙏
00:26 which bus will take me to this house?
I gotta say... seeing everyone eat those bugs was pretty disgusting but I love how it's tasty for them 😊It's amazing how much our pallets can adjust to the foods around us ! I would imagine that all of us use to eat the same foods before colonization but actually seeing it is quite fascinating 😅
Thank you, Sir Gareth we need a balance to take care of Mother Earth. All the people who live on this Earth have a special mission to keep our nature healthy and preserved for the future
0:26 convinced me to go to the amazon
What a wonderful experience, and a window into their lives!
I absolutely love stories and content like this! I love to see and learn about different communities, people, and places that we don’t see a lot of on all the travel vlogs and blogs out there Thank you for sharing!
Mr. Kim here I think you are very fortunate to be able to travel and visit these places I think it’s fantastic keep going man love it
about 700 of them left. So sad
From 200,000 in the early 20th century. 🤯

Thank you so much! Awesome trip! I’m so jealous of you. Awesome job! You’re really living life to the fullest! Again thank you!😊
love the advocacy and can relate to their philosophy, customs, and traditions being aligned to nature.
These people living in the green jungle are so respectful, kind and generous. I wish I could spend some time there. I am sure I will learn a lot. In NY people care about material things and do not care about human beings. Yes I live in NY
G D BLESS YOU !! GARETH....
Love the clips at the end 😊 so lovely to see how these communities welcome others and integrate them
Thanks for helping tell their story of the forest!
They are beautiful and happy. Crazy how they need nothing. Wish the whole world adapted this way of life and nature
Thank you for giving me a different perspective on life, where people blend into nature
What an amazing video! I love Peru and my heart longs to be in the jungle at some point in my life. Watching this video makes me happy on so many levels. Thank you and please do more videos here if possible, you're a great person for this.
Holy!! I'm torn between not wanting to drink that spit drink and wanting to taste all those jungle fruit. Salute to you for your "willingness" to drink it, man.

Wow Gareth.. I have not seen any video of yours for awhile til now. This video reminds me of my childhood days back in the Philippines. I grew up in the mountains "jungle" where there use to be no electricity, television etc... Living in the US, there are many things I miss in the village...my culture, the simplicity of life..... I am glad you are having this life adventures of a lifetime not everyone would not choose to do. Be safe.
