Hi Sisi I have been there to visit my son many times. I was treated so badly in many places including the airport. My son also had a very difficult time there. They are very cruel and mean to Africans and Indians. As South Africans we are not used to that kind of treatment. We expect people to greet and talk with respect. A friend of mine who worked for the UN had her hotel room searched because they suspected she had contraband. Only people who went on holiday had nice things to say about Dubai. I currently live and work in the US...Americans are way better and the working conditions not bad. Their social culture is very similar to ours. Also you can make so much more money in America. You can choose a state with nice weather...South Africa has the best of everything really. The only problem is the crime.
I lived in the UK, Wales. They do have a sense of shame and can pretend to be nice and welcoming. They do care of what others think of their race relations. Dubai does not care what your opinion of them is. There's a sense of superiority...you are made to feel like you are nothing and your voice is worth nothing. They are loud and will drown your voice. They will make you feel like you're so dirty because you are from the "western world" and you do all these horrible things western women do. They will verbalize that sentiment and isolate you. All I can advise you is to make as much money as you can while you're still young, invest it to make life easier if you do decide to return to South Africa on a permanent basis.
