    Loved the video, perhaps while your waiting for the vent try cutting a circle hole in some coreflu (thick woffle plastic) and jam it in the window. We did it and it works well.

    That looks interesting!
    For venting if someone didn’t want to put a fan in their roof, it would be handy if they had some kind of fitting that would go on the end of the flexible hose, where the end of the fitting was flat and wide so that it could be shut into a mostly closed window.

      @JonTanOsb ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, I've seen those. You just make a hole for the tube in wood or even cardboard, and have the insert fitted for the window.
      It might be a temporary fix before getting a vent fan in the roof, to keep the hot air from accumulating in the cab area.
      I'll bed Abby is loving it. :) And, if the water that comes out is drinkable, have a water bowl under the drain tube.

    I have been team EcoFlow for almost 3 years. My goal is transportable power/heat/cool/refrigeration. I have wave1 and wave2 and use both in my smallish home in Montana US as well as in my RV. Both came with a template to make window things to hold the exhaust hoses. Wave2 is definitely my fav. They both do an excellent job of cooling. Wave 2 is noticeably quieter plus with add on battery and heater … wow! A LOT in one unit. I find using the app much less fiddly than the display buttons… not just with Wave2, but wave1 and other EcoFlow items. Not sure why ??? I’m so happy Wave2 is working for you!
    ***EDITED TO ADD: I live in a low humidity area ... not as dry as desert but VERY low humidity. So some clarification ... not sure this type of unit works as well in high humidity but I don't know. And even in my low humidity conditions, I get nearly 2 gallons of water on a very hot day. I set my phone timer to check the gallon container through the day.
    Also re purchasing. In the US, there are certain times that EcoFlow does "bundle" sales. I have purchased bundles ... saving every year for what I want.

      @@banksiasongif the container that you catch it in is clean. It’s a lot like distilled water. I used distilled water in all my appliances to keep them from getting scaled up.

    Hi Brenna, nice to see you again. The things you need can be expensive, yes, but, if someone lives in a van fulltime, they're already saving money. Not having to pay rent, for one, is an enormous saving, which, over time, can be put towards the air-conditioner and other things that really are essential for comfortable living. Absolutely a good investment.

      My power bill (air conditioning via a heat pump) in my sticks and bricks is $380 for one month. I am interested in using this in a small room where I sleep. I cannot sleep well in a hot room. I will also put a ceiling fan in my smaller bedroom. I cannot afford $380 for one month of electricity. We in the United States (all of the USA) are experiencing a hotter-than-normal summer, as we do occasionally. I could also use this in my SUV when I go car camping.

    • @hiknfo
      @hiknfo 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bookbakeryI’m pretty sure this will work for a bedroom, but why not just get a $150 window shaker at Walmart? Unless you’re looking at running it on solar power in which case you could probably just get a panel and inverter and still run a small window unit.

    Hi Brenna, I took the leap and purchased a Zero Breeze Mk2, damned expensive but worth every cent for the heat here in Oz. I do not want to repeat last summer living in a sauna so this smaller model than yours works perfectly in my small Delica. I am so glad I did it even though we haven't hit the heat and humidity of summer you typically get in Queensland yet, this year I am prepared. There are more hoses which I vent through the passengers front window, a little awkward but beats the alternative.

    Hi Brenda,
    Just a thought... would you be able to place a netting on the extension tube so no creepy crawlys can enter the tube? Plus, if you place the vent through the roof, think about adding some kind of cover over it to prevent rain from going through.
    I'm so glad you are able to get some relief from the heat and the cold.
    Enjoyyyy

    I am interested to know if your new roof vent will make a difference regarding condensation and air flow in your van. I have installed 4 windows in my camper trailer and the only thing I needed help with was making the cut out lines square before cutting the holes. Putting in a vent (depending on if it has an electric fan or not) would be easy…just watch a few TH-cam videos. I even learnt how to rewire my trailer watching TH-cam. I’m female which is neither here nor there 😂

    Hi Brenna, I wouldn’t put the vent in the roof, most portable air con units are designed for the vent to be installed in a wall or window, similar to a dryer vent or a std air con unit. Remember that it’s warm air so the last thing you need is it condensing and water running back into the unit.

    Hi Brenna, thank you for your review. Looks like it is a great unit. For maximum efficiency I would leave the actual unit outside so that the heat dissipates outdoors however you are also sheltering it from the heat when in the front. Leaving the unit inside the cold area means that the unit also has to cool itself however I see that it is oversized so it might not be a problem althought it might be more inefficient. Cheers.

      I don’t have a thermometer in the van as I feel seeing a number can influence how you think rather than just going on how you feel. Also, I may be comfortable at 24 and someone else might feel hot or cold.

    Great product if living van life full time in a warm/ Mediterranean climate. Must look up the amps it draws.
    We are doing the Nullabor from Perth to Sydney in early Jan.-car and tent 😖 to deliver the car (car carriers are a dangerous scam here), and I think you mentioned earlier an app for caravan sites in Australia. If I got this right, would you mind please giving the name of the app, or others for safe camping spots? I'm getting more nervous about night time stops as the departure approaches.
    I am remembering your excellent videos about staying safe, and will re-watch them.
