    I used to live in Thailand... for nearly 30 yrs. actually, and I love Thai food. I think Thai food is probably the most savory and fragrant food in the world and I miss it so much. I love watching your show.... makes my mouth water just watching you cook all those delicious dishes. Thanks for doing these shows and giving instructions on how to cook them. I've already cooked several of them, and it turned out awesome.

      Thai food is just hands down thee best. There's is no other food on this planet that can make me salivate by just watching a video. Everything else taste like cardboard now, I need spicy and savory foods only.

    Hi Mark. I was just browsing through TH-cam channels about food. I have to say that I really loved the very authentic approach to sharing your love for good grub. I have already tried some of the recipes (ผัดกระเพราไก่ being a personal favourite) and the fact that you use the ingredients and utensils you'd find in a real Thai kitchen makes it easy for a Bangkok-based farang like me to go look for the ingredients and reproduce the wonderful dishes. I really like how you don't try to embellish the setting, but focus on the important thing... Cheers!

    I have lived in Thailand for almost 10 years - and never cooked my own food. Mostly because of the overwhelming selection of cheap, but delicious restaurants all over this country - but also because I am a lazy. Two years ago, I moved to Isan (Northeast Thailand) and here it can be a challenge to find good central- and southern Thai food outlets. Today I saw your video and two hours later I made my very first pad krapao. It was delicious and very easy! Thank you! Please keep up the good work!

    Hey Mark Wiens, here is Markus from Wien (Vienna, Austria). Yeah, this is my favorite thai dish; I tried that with several sauces in a glass bought from an asian supermarket, but now you showed me how to do it on my own; thank you! Not only this made me happy, also the (for me well known) bird sound at 3:52 and 4:13... I felt like I am home... in prathet Thailand! Thanks and take care!

    Dried Holy Basil and I steeped a nice handful in a few cooked down fresh tomatoes first then added to the chicken, garlic & peppers, I did add a nice splash of fish sauce in the end..I love that flavor, I can't help it! :) So good, I could eat it every day! Thank you, I love your videos!

    ผัดกะเพราของไทยดูเหมือนง่ายๆ แต่จริงๆแล้วมีขั้นตอนวิธีการแตกต่างมากมาย กินข้างถนนรสชาดอย่างหนึ่งกินในโรงแรมอีกอย่างหนึ่ง บางคนผัดออกมาดูสวยเงางาม บางคนผัดออกมาดูแห้งเหี่ยว บางคนทอดใบกะเพราก่อนกรอบๆดี บางคนใส่ใบกะเพราตอนเสร็จแล้วกลิ่นหอมสดๆ บางคนใส่พริกไทยเม็ดลงไปตอนตำพริก บางคนตอนผัดจะเอาน้ำลงไปล้างครกที่เหลือพริกติดอยู่แล้วเอาใส่ในผัดกะเพรา แต่จะให้ดีควรเลือกกินผัดกะเพราะในร้านที่ขายก๋วยเตี๋ยวด้วยเพราะเวลาผัดเขาจะเติมน้ำซุปก๋วยเตี๋ยวลงไปหน่อยได้รสชาดอร่อยดีมากๆ แต่บางคนจะทำน้ำซุปหรือน้ำสต็อกมาไว้ใส่โดยเฉพาะ แต่ไม่แนะนำบางร้านที่เอาน้ำเปล่าใสลงไปเพราะทำให้เสียรสชาด บางคนก็ใส่ซีอิ้วดำหรือขาว บางคนก็ใส่น้ำมันหอย เนื้อหมูย่างในร้านที่ขายลาบน้ำตกอาหารอีสาน ให้ลองเอามาผัดกะเพราดูจะรู้ว่าอร่อยมากจริง แต่ผัดแบบแห้งๆนะ

    This is my favourite dish ever. Had the pleasure of eating this many times in Thailand, luckily I found a place where I can get Thai basil in the UK. Great videos really enjoy them, thanks.

    Thanks for the quick and easy recipe. I tried it out today and it was great!
    I was about to skip out on the egg, but I'm so glad I didn't. Pairs so nicely! I put too little basil though ^.^;
    Also, you look like Christian Camargo in the show Dexter.

    I saw you using Chinese garlic (garlic that grown in China and imported here in Thailand) which is larger in shape but weaker taste and less fragrant and less spicy than Thai garlic. I reccomend using Thai garlic instead because it's more authentic and taste and smell even better and it's available almost every Thai fresh market , weakend, modern super market and it's cheaper thatn Chinese garlic.

    That looks so good! Do you have to use both the dark and the light soy sauce? Does it make that much of a difference in flavor if you don't?

    • @korakot2003
      @korakot2003 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Dark soy sauce gives the dish a hint of sweetness while light give saltiness it'll be best if you have both!

    • @courier007
      @courier007 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe a little fish sauce for saltiness in that case?

    • @Masamasso
      @Masamasso 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Pat krapow has so many recipes , some use only light soy sauce , some also use dark.the dark make the dish look more brown and add a little sweet&bitterness.someone likes it , someone dont

    I love Thai food. Best of all. I am a white middle-aged man who discovered Panang Curry Chicken in Silicon Valley years ago and like a fool, that was all I ate. Now I am in the high desert and watch Mark's videos and my keyboard must be cleaned from so much... well, you know!
