Am not at all able to implement bottom navigation in my stuido,
It acts as if there is no content in it ,and just stays collapsed all the time.(i.e. when i use wrap content for the bottom nav_bar ,it should expand in height, but its not happening ! ,even after attaching the menu resource file to the bottom nav ..) . Please help out !

This is a really good tutorial. But for some reason, the non selected item text color is white for light theme, and black for black theme. So, cannot see the non selected items. The icon color for non selected is black as usual, but the text is completely invisible. Only the selected one is visible. I know now, this is due to the fact I have more than 3 items, actually have 5 items, but cannot figure out how and where to change BottomNavigationBarType.fixed.

Check the color in theme.xml.
Add colors in both day and night xml classes and use them.
It will change accordingly.

Check you have added home menu option and if you have added, then check R is imported or not.
Do gradle sync again if issue persists.

@@qqqQqqQqqQqQQQW well what I did is I downloaded android studio dolphin and it worked there , but I think the core issue was the Gradle version I was using , the Gradle version that gave me this issue was 8.0 , in the version I downloaded I downgraded the Gradle to 7.4
