My parents have old address proof in Ontario where they stayed with me, their bank statements will show old Toronto address. But now they are going to land as PR. Their address is going to be my friend's address as I'm abroad working for another company. Can they use their old Toronto address as ontario resident proof but use my friend's address to receive the card like Hey we no longer live in the old address, this is the current address? My friend is the owner of his house. Please advise
For first time only we need to show any proof for address. We can update the address later online and they dont ask any proof to upload. So you can update address online anytime.

@exotic7777 For address proof, you can ask your company for HR letter with address. Or you can show your Rental agreement as address proof. These 2 documents are quick and easy to collect. And if you change your stay after getting card, you can then update your new address in OHIP online within 30 days.

Could you please update whether OHIP wait period is still cancelled for new pr holders
Hi! Thanks for the video. My family and I are reaching Ontario soon as unemployed PRs. We found out recently that we're expecting another child and my wife shall be three months pregnant when we'll arrive in Ontario for good. We're not sure how we'll manage the medical expenses after landing. What steps should we take to get the health card for my wife ASAP? Thanks in advance.
@Sid, Hope you will be staying on a rent, so you will get the rental agreement the day you shift, for address proof. You can search for rents on Kijiji.ca or Facebook marketplace. You will get one within few days. The day you land, Call and confirm your nearest Service Ontario for issue of new OHIP and book online appointment asap or you can directly walkin early morning. You can find rental and book appointment even from India itself, so on the day 1 itself, you will be ready to visit ServiceOntario office. You will get the health card number same day on a receipt. You can then use it everywhere. Hope this is useful.

I am also in a similar situation, where I am landing with my family in September 2022 and I will be six months pregnant, so really worried about the costs and everything
Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy, @@meghanagpal3978. I pray that this period passes smoothly and you meet your baby in good health. Regarding OHIP and expenses, don't be stressed as there's no waiting period for OHIP currently. It's been like this for past two years and may remain unchanged for some more months. You'll be able to avail the public health facilities soon after your arrival. They just need an address proof, passports, and COPRs for the issuance of health card numbers.

@lally sudha If you are saying whether you can use any address proof documents with your sister's name on it, then NO. You can use your sister's address only if you have any address proof document with your name on it.
