- One of the best WiFi 6 APs on the market is the Grandstream GWN7664. It's a 4x4:4 (2.4 and 5Ghz) access point and supports quality of service for voice over WiFi. Every time someone tries one of these APs we get great feedback about the speeds and how stable things are now. Check it out! Thanks to Grandstream for sending me this unit. Also -- I did clarify the warranty and it's 3 years. MRSP is $199

Grandstream APs are the best I've ever used, hands down. They are bullet proof, so easy to configure, and for the love of all things holy and non-cloud based -- NO CONTROLLER DEVICE NEEDED. Its all built in, right in the AP, and just works.
Thanks Willie, great video. I don’t have one of these yet, I have the GWN7660, and it works great. Can’t wait for the switches
I have a confession... For some dumb reason, I have been running my 3 7660s (in mesh mode) without WiFi 5 compatibility enabled. After the kick in the pants I just got from you, I turned it on. Now, all of the weird connection issues I have been having with my Wyze cams & TinyCam Pro, have gone away! DUH!!! Thanks Willie!
Great talking to you Tony and the rest of the gang - I just subscribed 🙂
Can't wait to get one of these! Very nice ap. Good work Willie ! And first !!
These are sooooo good!
Thanksfully, Grandstream implemented Wifi5 compatibility mode which can be activated for each band, so you can e.g. let your legacy clients connect to a non 802.11ax 2.4 GHz SSID and your younger clients to 5.0 Ghz 802.11ax SSID.
Aren't the two network ports switched?
In that case you could get closer to that 3.5 gigabit throughout they advertise.
thats a chunky boi. i need to try one of those and a cambium one as well.
as far as lag goes you can lag them together at 1gb speed depending on their chipset and firmware.
Bam this is exactly what I want to see
Can you explain a bit why we should use the 20MHz rather than the 40MHz on 2.4GHz?
my gwn7664lr can't set tx power to 27dbm...can you help me?
Willie, do you know why there is a Wi-Fi 5 compatibility checkbox option on GWN76xx access points? I ask since Wi-Fi 6 is suppose to be backward compatible.
Yes to make sure non WiFi 6 clients have maximum compatibility
@@WillieHowe Thanks. Interesting. Since Wi-Fi 6 functions are disabled when that option is checked, it kind of defeats the purpose of buying Wi-Fi 6 hardware. Odd!
Where is a good place to buy this AP? Can you show us a mesh setup with multiple APs? Thanks for sharing!

Willie, am I going to have any issues with my Mikrotik equipment and the Grandstream AP?
Nope!
hi willie can we set fixed ip's for wifi clients??
