Well, I was skeptical about buying a Cr-v with CVT at first, but after 100k miles on my 2015 Cr-v, it performs flawlessly and quite frankly, family members with 2013 and 2014 Cr-v are having some transmission issues with their automatics slipping. Anyone who brings up Nissan and Subarua Cvts as comparison to Hondas don't know what they are talking about. If I want to go fast, i just take out my Honda s2000.

2004-2008 Honda pilots are about 2-3 seconds faster than this Honda CRV. Only because they have 3.5L V6 J35 single over head cam, with 244-255HP and it’s got the same tranny 5 speed automatic. Would love to see this guy get his hands on one they have pretty damn good acceleration.
@@occckid123 you misunderstood, I’m not saying there IS no powerband, I’m saying it’s a crv, if you’re concerned with performance I’d assume you’re driving something other than a crv
@@billy1503 there's something called driveability and I'm saying it's a 4cyl attached to heavy suv so the cvt pits you in the correct ratio much better than the 5spd so it doesn't feel like you're pushing pushing pushing and trying to push pass the dead spot before the big downshift happens. It's just alot smoother operating. My friend constantly drives both vehicles back 2 back and always gushes how the cvt drives better than thr 5spd for those reasons.

Two things I love hearing: a Honda transmission whine up, and VTEC kicking in
Love that first gear sound
It does sound cool!
The high pitched whine sounded like some futuristic gizmo powering up

nissan and honda don’t have the same transmissions? doesn’t nissan use jacto and honda makes their own or uses a different one
@jaysarchive7325 exactly, not all CVTs are bad, it's mainly the Nissan ones.
About as quick as my 06 Scion tc. Finally something I can race lol
When the VTEC kicks in, yo!

I just can’t physically stand a CVT personally. I also wouldn’t touch a newer Honda regardless. They’re going in the wrong direction

I love my moms 14 LX.
VTEC!!!
Yeah, but the newer CRVs with the cvt are so much smoother, and plus I heard that the newer Honda cvts are pretty reliable.
They are.

Good for a CRV.
At least it got sound and shifting. Very slow 10s but economy is there.
That's because it has very long gears and only a 5 speed auto.
Its a CRV, not a portscar, by the way, CRV 2016 130k miles and still pushing hard @ highway
But in real life the cvt feels better because the gears are so long on this so its okt of the power band most of the time.
I agree with you, cvts are smooth and deliver power better! People will never understand.
