    HELLO!
I just found your channel while researching echinacea.
You have a wonderful channel with a lot of useful information.
I am currently watching your herbal playlist.
I think it is so important for people to learn these old medicinal practices.
You do a great job explaining the plants and their medicinal benefits and how to make tinctures, etc.
Do you read a lot of herbal medicine books, or did your grandmother teach you most of what you know.
Please share any books you recommend about herbal remedies!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I just subscribed today, excited to watch more of your gardening videos as well.
    Cheers!

Thank you very much! I am happy to hear that you find my channel useful. My babushka and mama have taught me many home remedies, however, as a nurse and someone who deals with autoimmune disorders, I began to dive deeper into natural medicine. I have been off all pharmaceuticals for 7 years and continue to learn, search, and treat myself and my family herbaly.
I will do a video on my favorite herbal books, it's just I am so busy with gardening and food preservation right now.

@@lulishomestead6767 thanks so much for the quick reply.
No worries about a new video but I will keep an eye out for one from you.
It would be nice to know what you like to use the most.
What remedies you take regularly or daily maybe and the benefits of each.
I just want to learn as much benefits as possible.
      Thanks again for sharing.
      Happy gardening!

Two questions. One, Ive seen a product called Thyme Out for skin problems. I'm assuming if I add some aloe, this would be essentially the same product? Two, How much do you take of the finished thyme product if you were taking it for a cold or other bronchial issue?

    • @violetgentry9041
      @violetgentry9041 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I use a tablespoon in a cup of warm water once a day, I rarely need it more than 2 days. But everyone is different you could start with 1 teaspoon and see if that works for you.

After the herb gives out all of its medicinal properties it goes into the compost pile.

I throw all my ingredients that are left over from making tinctures into a glass jar with filtered water and throw in a few orange or lemon peels. Leave it to brew under the sink in cabinet. I kill bugs with the spray, sometimes mold and use it as a general spray for surfaces. I use a high proof vodka for tinctures. I believe it gives longer shelf life. I also dry my herbs for a few days to get out moisture content to avoid any growth I don’t want. Remember to add more vodka, if needed, while resting to keep herbs submerged and you shouldn’t have any problems, dried or fresh. You can also infuse into vinegar or boiling water if you don’t like the booze. Good luck 🍀
