Mind boggling how rare and how much these graded cards go for.Never was a fan of graded cards,I am old school and have always preserved my cards.Many have told me you really take care of your cards.Not a fan of an outside source telling me how good of condition my cards are when I am totally confident in the condition of my cards!!!
Agree to an extent but to make a more streamlined market there’s gotta be a baseline to guide the market otherwise it’s just trusting word and as much as I wish the world could work that way life proves it ain’t like that in a business 💯

Came over from sports card investor. This was a fun cross over event. i wouldn't have found this channel without the cross over videos so that was cool. I only found Geoff's page recently, but I have been eating it up!! He is a true asset to the industry. Thanks for doing this interview.
Just wish he would stop D riding PSA... He's getting paid to support them.. Theyre truly ripping off people & it takes them up to a year to get your cards back.. An if that player on the card gets huge in that time frame, they will up charge you and if you can't pay they keep them.

I would have liked him address cards from the 1960s/1970s. Wilt, West, Havlichek, Willis Reed, Baylor, etc.
Fun video. I focus are organically rare vintage baseball but the intentionally rare modern cards are what seem hot right now.
Writing this WAY after this video was originally posted so I have the benefit of hindsight. Amazing collection and thanks for sharing…..and Giannis might have a good playoff run….😉😉awesome! I can remember when a PSA 10 Kobe Topps rookie was around $100. For years, I kept putting it off. Then all of a sudden, his card prices spiked. I kick my self over this.

I love the cards Geoff has but no way a Giannis silver prizm rc is 50k. More of a 25k to 28k card. Still a sick card. If you have a collection like that you dont have to overachieve. I was allready impressed when he pulled out those Lebrons and after that the Kobes and signed MJ rookies. Man does this guy has a sick collection.
That was a nice look into an incredible collection.
I have not assessed the overall value of my PC. But if I did my guess is that the total worth would currently only be somewhere like in 25K to 40K range. Small change compared to what you've got. But I am looking forward to seeing a lot growth though since a decent portion of what I have is comprised of young and budding stars.

The 2008 Lebron refractor is no easy find been hunting for that for a while , nice style to his collection my kinda cards
As a guy who grew up collecting basketball cards from 96-05 its sad to see panini just took over the hobby. BTW kobe 96 ex 2000 essential credentials is the best looking kobe card after his passing. Looks like hes in heaven

2018 was a pristine year to “get back into” investing in the hobby - gives a couple years to build up a nice collection before all hell breaks loose. On the flip side, 2018 was the year I finally sold off my collection of prime Jordan’s, Kobe’s and LeBrons. Still losing sleep over it (like many others).
How much could you have made? Sounds rough buddy
@@topreview3791 lets see if he sold 25k it would be around 350k in 2021. you could get many cards 100$-1k and sell at peak of 2021 for 2k-100k it went crazy
My take on Sports Cards is simple: I have been a collector for over 40. I bought my whole collection for pennies on the dollar. I will never have to worry about a panic sale, because everything was pretty much pack pulled. Be VERY careful and don't throw the farm at sports cards! Diversify your investments and CASH is king, and will always be.
Cash is not king and you'll be out screwed here soon if that's how you think, also nobody is gonna want your sports cards if the shtf

Upper Deck did a 1986 Fleer Jordan buyback which were signed and limited to 23 which were redemptions in a UD product
People really think that the most expensive cards out there are autos and relic cards but really it’s the refractors and history to some of these with the grades.
I fainted in the value of the cards lol. Great job guys keep it up!

my brothers since they where 5 started collecting these and i have like all of these, but since none of us knew that they are so valubale they are just tossed somewhere and ripped and i think we even trow out a lot of these 0-0

Tbh the best of the best collections aren't talked about, I can promise that. My wife's grandfather has the most in depth and rare collection of sport memorabilia, he only trades or sells privately and almost everyone around him has no clue he ever has the collection. I'm talking ledgers of complete sets over 50 years of all sports, he knows every single card he has over the billions he does have. Insane collection.

2003 SP Authentic autos....my buddy has a dual auto with Kobe and Wade. Almost bought the Jordan and LeBron for 1k back in 03'. It's still ungraded!
Collecting sports cards loses its point when you have all the money of the world to buy the most expensive boxes just like that
I love this stuff but it's just like the real estate market and when the card market crashes they'll only be worth a few hundred.
Jeff actually made a video showing that his Lebron refractor PSA 10 is now one of his worst investments and that he bought at the peak of the market.

I wish I knew more about basketball cards in general, my big brother played himself and was a huge collector and has been for the past 25years until he stopped and gave me his entire collection. So kinda mixed feelings if I should just try and sell them or get into the collecting myself... It's literally 1000s of cards sleeved in pack fresh conditions

He says for the Tiger Woods golf card that "Only 900 produced" and it's worth 60k?... That is pure insanity... I consider anything serial numbered or not with a production run of over xxx/250 to not even be worth the time because in almost all circumstances that's not a rare card .... I'm absolutely convinced when it comes to Basketball, Football and Baseball that dealers are just making up arbitrary values and prices and new collectors and investors are paying it - driving up the prices..

Dude. Get it graded if it looks like it’s in amazing condition. It should be worth something, but I’m not 100%. Search your card on the internet and see
I got a few Patrick mahomes rookies out of 5 and 10 for $10,12, spectra auto out of 50 for $50
nah i got his rc auto /25 his rookie year for 250$ sold last year 12k now the card is 9k and mookie betts gold auto/50 for 150$ sold last year 15k now its tomuch to get a rookie cheap anymore

Ohtani cards are the cards to chase as he is getting better each year. He has a strong chance on MVP, CY young or even both for 23'. He is a once in a lifetime talent and is the most popular sports athlete.
