Just correction... Chinese ethnic here we use the term "Malaysian Chinese" and not Malay Chinese. Similarly you do not refer to Indian in Malaysia as "Malay Indian" you would refer them as "Malaysian Indian". This is because there is another ethnic in Malaysia called Malay... They are predominantly Muslim and original is from South East Asia region. So when you uses " Malay Chinese " people around this region or familiar with Malaysia would think you are referring to Malay and Chinese race.

There are quite a number of different pitcher plants that you can see if you visit MARDI Agro Tech Park in Cameron Highland. But, a good pair of walking or hiking boots (waterproof if possible) are recommended if you go into the jungle. In some places, you wil also encounter leeches and stockings are good. Wow, you are much braver than I am, and I am a 200 6 ft man. I am pretty sure I would not have ventured into that jungle by myself, so props to you.
I toured a tea plantation in your home province of Anhui many years ago, they were harvesting the tea with something like a lawn mower that 2 people held on each side of the tea rows, that machine exhausted the tea leaves into a large bag, which was then transported to a factory to be dried and packaged. We were lucky enough to have dinner with the farmer who owned the plantation, was quite interesting food also.
Anyhow, thanks for your bravery and interest in sharing your travels and travails, best luck

I think you were very brave to go hiking in the jungle by yourself! The plant that you emptied out is a pitcher plant, Nepenthaceae. It is carnivorous: it gets its nutrition by trapping flies and digesting them!
