    Hi james. I asked the people at my local beauty supply store if i could use a high lift tint how you used it and the just told me no so its nice yo see that it can actually be done. Ive always told people that have afor hair that want to be platinum that is possible but no one listened. So i do love this video. I just been to figure out my toneres and hopefully ill be set. If you could recommend any course that are just about lightening and toning id love to know as i want to specialise in blonding and chemical services. Thank u 😜

      Wonderful Alex so pleased that you enjoyed this video and yes you can definitely use highlift on textured hair types as well as using bleach you just have to be extra careful. In a few months or so I will be launching a new education platform and we will be covering everything You could ever imagine in the most detailed fashion even more detailed than my TH-cam videos are so do keep your eyes peeled for that it will probably launched towards the end of the year but it will be so comprehensive and have everything you could ever want have and you also get weekly lives with me included into that online education package

  • @heatherm7933
    @heatherm7933 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ahahh so I've asked this question before and found nothing conclusive! You DO get further lift with a highlift over bleach. Please will you tell me if this works with all ranges? I was worried about over deposit of tone previously, and it's IMPOSSIBLE to try it on a dolly head as the hair is so overprocessed on those.

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you do get additional lift and you get to turn on deposit at the same time as you would with any highlift tint You only use this technique when you have used a full head bleaching process prior.

      Glad you liked it Robert, it’s generally about the volume I don’t think it really works if you’re using 30 or 40 it needs to be 20 vol so the hair needs to be quite light I find it only works well if you’re wanting an extra two levels of left and tone, are used to Redken blonde idol plus 20vol 👍🏻😁

    Hi, could you tell me how to maintain the white hair? Purple shampoos turn my hair lilac or grayish silver when I try to get the yellow out but I want it to remain white white.

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Okay T R Generally speaking then the shampoo is too strong white is just an illusion of colour once you remove the yellow just enough you see Weidt if you are seeing the lilac/grey tone then the shampoo is too strong so the best thing to do is mix it 50-50 with normal shampoo and start from there If it doesn’t remove all the yellow then add a bit more of your blue/purple shampoo if it makes it to purple/grey then add a little bit more Shampoo Hope that helps

      You are welcome Josie yes I think it’s important that we can do Afro-Caribbean hair as well as Caucasian hair and Asian hair at the end of the day it’s just hair you have to treat it slightly differently but we should all be capable of dealing with any hair type 😁👍🏻

    THANK YOU SO MUCH for this. been watching your channel for a while and 'm going through 2 inches of grey hair pepper and salt mostly with a prominent skunk stripe in the front. I have 26 inches of biracial wavy/curly hair. I will be grey blending using highlights to tone to a platinum grey. Defo wont be chopping off 24 inches of hair! So thank you for this. but I was wondering I tried 30 dev and i didnt get the lift to a full 10 - but with 20 vol It was significantly lighter almost a level ten. Do you recommend a specific bleaching powder for 2b to 3b hair type I flat iron from time to time apart from the odd dry ends, my hairs very healthy? I would really be interested to know. Appreciate your channel so much. I'm British - but based in the tropics. any advice would be greatly appreciated - keep the vids coming!

    Why is the high lift color less damaging than re-bleaching & toning w/a demi??

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question Lori, damaged wise it probably about the same I so close it’s not possible to tell in my experience it’s more about effective time management for me you can get the high lift on super quick and the leave it to process and the job is done saving around 40mins off a long job is always good in my book. 😁👍🏻

    • @lorihavener2647
      @lorihavener2647 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheLifeOfHair I use an Ultra lift that requires 1:2 parts 30 or 40 vol developer. Is your high lift similar?

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lori Havener Yes similar Lori, What I would say to you is that you do an experiment on a random piece of hair cutting or a strand test and mix it with 20 volume this way you might get more colour deposition and therefore it will work better as a toner and lifting simultaneously one of the problems we face when using 30 and 40 volume is that you can potentially and I potentially loosely not get as much tone out of a product due to the strength of the peroxide. I hope that makes sense any other questions let me know. 👍🏻

    • @pimpmyride7278
      @pimpmyride7278 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Life Of Hair saying Afro hair was such a cringe. It’s sounded awful to me. Ethnic hair or tightly coiled texture. Idk. Afro hair sounds bad. Maybe it’s because I’m use to hear “american” right after Afro.

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh I see thank you for clearing that up for me, very interesting and I guess I use the word Afro right or wrong, just because that’s how most people would talk about it back here in the UK. it certainly doesn’t have any negative connotations over here although I think whether you have Afro, Asian or Caucasian hair or hairdresser should have some idea of how to deal with these textures and not purely say I don’t deal with that kind of hair I think that is the worst out of all. 👍🏻

    • @pimpmyride7278
      @pimpmyride7278 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Life Of Hair there in lies the issue. An “Afro” is a hairstyle. It’s not a hair texture. Saying Afro hair doesn’t really make since my dear friend. Caucasian hair refers to the race of people that typically have a specific hair type. Anyone can wear an Afro. In the 60s and 70s many races chose Afro styles. I guess this is why it’s cringe-worthy to me. I’m sorry if I seem like I’m picking on you. Just being honest. I love your work and your channel.
