a small addition for rendering and even meshing: you can use the Render Tools/ *Apply Edge Softening* to eithet fillet or chamfer ALL of your objects edges. This fillet is applied on the mesh non destructively, you can change it to chamfer or reduce it/remove it anytime. It will only appear when rendering or converting to mesh, which is very handy, together with *Curve Piping* and *Shutlining* . Snaps work on the original object, without the Edge Softening. A very handy tool that we usually forget.
Sweet! Thanks for the video. Never used Rhino before and this is exactly what i was looking for. Only difference is that instead of the superman symbol, I wanted a square diamond shape on top. Bloody Legend! :3
Hey PJ. great video. I made a surface using Sweep2. I edit a cross section but the surface doesn't update. is there a setting to have a live update or do I have to apply a new Sweep2 every time I tweak something? thanks.
YES! Record History was it. Thank you so much. Awesome. I found the History panel but I would still like to enable the toolbar at the bottom with the shortcuts, if you know how. Thank you :)
For some reason my surfaces won't go smooth as yours after the 2 sweep, it gets all messed up even though I did just as you showed! Could it be that there's a setup I messed up??
@ 11:11 How were you able to just highlight the edge of the logo without highlighting the inside of the logo, if their joined? I can’t seem to be able to use sweep rail 2.
My shank curves are open but they are both joining the top cross section which is a closed curve. I used the snap tools. How do i make the sides closed curves? Sorry I’m new at this. Thanks for your help. I love the videos!
I’ll watch it , thank you, Also I followed your fox ring guide and made the ring but when I Boolean union it , it Boolean difference it instead... I tried restarting the program but still doesn’t union do you know why?

It is hard to know the issue without seeing the model. I am just guessing- when you do sweep 2. do you pick rail on the same end?
@@PJChenJewelryDesign Nevermind, I just found what I was doing wrong! :) Thanks for the fast reply and concern!
on your offset crv you can use 'through point' option if you want to enter the distance by eye...
schmidtpe That is a great tip. Thank you for sharing.
can u pls do more signet ring (which has square, rectangle shapes)design,
I have few videos about signet ring. you can search "signet" onmy channel. other type of angular shape will be similar with this one for building
Thank you so much mam
Could have been done with network surface command instead of sweep 2 rails right?
Praveen Dev Yes, it is possible to do it with newwork. The result is similar but different surface structures.
@ 11:11 How were you able to just highlight the edge of the logo without highlighting the inside of the logo, if their joined? I can’t seem to be able to use sweep rail 2.
you may group your logo. just need to ungroup it and join the outer curves together
@@PJChenJewelryDesign thank you 🙏🏾
Dear pj how can I make star signet ring in rihno???
it is actually the same method just replace to top shape into star shape.
I was wondering how to trace a more intricate model, now i know, sure miss Illustrators pen tool,LOL.
^_^
I did just like you said, still it shows this "Select either open or closed curves, but not both." Please help
when you do sweep. you can only choose open OR close curves for rails. You may want to check on your rail curves. They may not be the same.
J surface with hinch
Can’t get sweep 2 rails to work. It says that it can’t join both open and closed curves. Suggestions?
yes, please check both your cross session are closed curve. especially the one on the top. make sure they all join.
