How tf did you not get the relationship from the teaser Rick? She mentions the word "brother" at least 3 times. Also, it's a teaser, so there won't be much plot reveal of course, but it's quite obvious she's trying to rescue her brother.
Also the song right through the intro sets it up for us it's ingrained , but they don't get the song .. which take them a min to understand the relationship but ya first scenes sets it up literally
Rick, you completely missed the emotional hook of this trailer which every Indian has connected with. The song, originally from 1971, is the most famous song expressing the relationship of a brother and sister. There was no further explanation needed in this teaser. It’s clear that her bother has been detained in a prison from which she’s training to break him out of.
Credit to Vedang singing Phoolon ka Taare with such raw emotion. We feel the pain and love in this song We don't need a trailer for this. This cut was perfection.
If you knew the song Rick, you would know the subject matter, it’s an old song. This was an intriguing trailer and only the people jealous of Alia and starkids would rally behind Rick’s crazy opinion.
Alia says in the first 20 seconds of the video that she wants to save her brother who is in jail. Also I think its good that they didn't reveal much of the story but I am sure the trailer will tell us more about the story.
The background song in trailer is a famous song that brothers often dedicate to their sisters lovingly..it’s an old Hindi movie song.. you can google..”phoolon ka taaron ka”..I think you guys have reacted to that song video earlier
@@Arya-cs7kj You don't remember a song you heard once ages ago. How can someone recognise based on such far-off memory. This is a ridiculous expectation.
The song says it all. You guys have reacted to the original song phoolon ka taaron ka 4 years back.. it's an old song sung about the bond between a brother and sister
The song in the background celebrates brother sister. It echoes in our hearts. The impact of the trailer is in the song! It seems to be a readaptation of another film, Gumraah with Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt
Ok so Rick went senile for a couple of minutes.😅😅 The teaser literally gave away the whole plot of the movie. It's about a brother - sister relationship . She is gonna break out her brother from some South East Asian country jail. Simple... FYI this movie theme is very similar to a Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt movie called Gumrah, directed by Mahesh Bhatt.
Wasn't it just recently confirmed that this is an official remake of Gumrah? Since Gumrah was produced by Dharma also, they didn't have any problems securing the copyrights for this one. I think it's just what they did with Agneepath....
You guys watched bhag milkha bhag, there is a little story of brother and sister , and you watched sarabjit also, aish and randeep hooda love story, now this one. You can understand the story, brothers, but you can't feel the same emotions that only indians can feel. I will take my sister with me to watch this movie in theatre. I am 45, and she is 53 now.
BRUH THE FIRST FEW SCENES CLEARLY MENTIONED THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND ALSO IF YOU READ THE SUBS THEN IT'S CLEAR THAT THEY ARE GOING TO BREAK APART THE PRISON TO SAVE HER BROTHER... NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES. Probably an elder sister would really relate to this POV... ANYTHING IT TAKES.
Hi, so I’d like to break this down for you guys for you to better understand this trailer 1. This is a teaser trailer, hence the choice of a song as the background and less of dialogues. It’s intending to evoke emotions with that very bg song. 2. For your reference the song is a very old song that is about a brother sister bond. The original song is a rather happy and jovial song, but the take here is they’ve made it into a slow, angsty version to evoke emotions (P.S. the song in this teaser is actually sung by Vedang Raina, the actor who plays the brother) 3. the trailer basically shows how they have no family left. It’s only the two for themselves and both of them have some embedded trauma which will unfold in the movie 4. the brother seems to have gotten arrested and the sister will essentially prison break to get him out 5. in India this narrative is fresh and new as usually the men save the women. The song essentially is usually played during Raksha Bandhan a festival here in India, whose basic premise is girls tying rakhis to their brothers in a way taking a promise from them to always protect them. Hence the choice of sound, but a reverse narrative. 6. lastly from the visuals it looks like the brother has gotten arrested in a foreign country (looking at the jail and the cops) so the aspect of Alia breaking him out of a foreign prison adds another layer of complications I hope this helps!
The reaction is perfectly understandable for someone who seeks to know a culture vide distant learning. If they spent time in North India, they would know how seeped into culture is the background song and its significance qua bro-sis relationship in a familial unit.
It was great something new no dancing just pure acting!! Love that she’s breaking barriers with female lead movies. Trailer kind of hit all the emotions making me want to watch this movie.
Okay guys, I know Rick could’ve paid more attention to the beginning and it should be obvious but we’ve gotta remember that they don’t know this song and the lyrics didn’t have subs. We make the connection instantly because we’ve grown up with phoolon ka taaron ka
Rick telling that there will be some people who don’t get it, hmm let’s see so you need to have a brain fart few initial moments like him to not even get the subtitles even if they don’t get the song to understand the relationship. Rick turned very old past year or so affecting his mental & physical health 😅
You didn't get the relationship coz you must haven't paid attention to the subtitles that made it crystal clear right in the beginning.😐 It's a prison break story.
You're right Rick, it does not appeal to anyone who doesn't know some Indian pop-culture, I guess it wasn't meant to appeal to them..Because to an Indian, this is kinda mind-blowing (where the primary audience resides)... The biggest reason, apart from Alia, is the background song!! Its a cult sibling song from DevAnand's "Hare Rama Hare Krishna"... Just listening to that everyone knows she is talking about her brother without even needing to mention it...I guess sometimes pop-culture references overtake the intent, and general public who isn't a crazy Bollywood fanatic (You are, but still some misses happen ;) ) don't get it!! May be there will be another trailer cut which should appeal to international audiences... However, I am looking forward to this movie, because it hits just the right spot for me :)
1. They used a song that practically EVERY Indian knows because of its a significance of sibling relationship!! So most of us understood what its about just through the song. 2. She mentione brother so many times. 3. The visuals were beautiful & it didn't give out too much so we were kept in a state kf suspense of what is happening. I think it was an excellent trailer!!
What are you saying!? Firstly, Sure they like all of them you mentioned but they didn't even get what they saw 😂😂 Nd second, they are not liking any hindi movie lately! They won't like it or max they'll find it ok! 😂
In india, we have so many emotions between sister and brother love. My elder sister is 8 years older than me, she is like my mother. On every step of my life she helps me to find right path. And whatever is the situation , she everytime ready to help me. My every breath is for her. I can do anything to see happiness in her life.
This is the reason why foreigners can't get our movies which have Indian cultural references and we as indians understand that emotion and can connect with it but Americans have different culture they are not as close to thier siblings as us and hince they can't understand most of the time
Forget the storyline that might not be obvious in the trailer. Rick is just saying he didn't see anything special about alia. I kinda agree. Alia wasn't showing much emotion or layers for someone who's saving her brother.
With you Rick.. for the past 10 years many of us don’t see anything special in Alia .. but Karan johar doesn’t see anyone beyond her. Some obsession there
Indians will immediately catch on guys, the song itself gives away that its a brother sister story ofcourse non hindi speaking people and guys who dont know the song Phoolon ka Taronka sabka kehna hai wont catch on to the plot
Its always ok to have opinions guys... I'm quite intrigued, it reminded me of Sarbajit.. How the sister didn't gave up on her brother. A brother who is captured in a foreign land, a sister who will do anything to save her brother.. Excited to see this on big screen, October 11 it iz.
Probably she is going to save him from a jail in Bangkok but the soul of the film will be emotions rather than action! The build up for the climax where she'll break the prison!
If you are flabbergasted by a trailer and you dont get it, especially if its a foreign movie, you should watch it the second time around. That would help.
If Rick would have understood hindi. Then He would not have a problem. That's okay. The song was the one that summarizes the story. Just listen to the song. Will understand the same.

Also if possible please react to the song 'ek hazaron mein meri bahena hai' which is the og song from the trailer from old Bollywood. It has two versions the young version of the sibling duo and the older version of the same duo. I'm sure many would watch it with great enthusiasm
I suggest you also keep an Indian in the time of your reaction because you make such obvious mistakes.
