How to Tame & Use a Sinomacrops in ARK: Survival Evolved | PC | PS | Xbox

Welcome to a quick tutorial on pretty much everything you need to know about taming and using a Sinomacrops in ARK: Survival Evolved! In this video I show you where to find Sinomacrops, how to tame them and explore all of their core controls and functionality. Sinomacrops are small, shoulder-mounting, winged reptiles that were introduced with the release of the ARK Lost Island DLC. Sinomacrops are currently the only shoulder-mounting creature in the game that essentially provides flight and gliding mechanics to survivors on foot. In addition to this, they feature a 50% weight reduction to all items placed within it's inventory, essentially making them the first organic "backpack" of a sort. They feature a unique "Scream" system that automatically scares away some of the annoying smaller threats in the game, acting as a much-needed quality of life update.

The Sinomacrops was a REALLY fun creature to tinker around with when making this creature tutorial. I personally enjoy playing ARK on foot as opposed to riding around on creatures, so these little dudes are a perfect addition to the game that makes traversing longer distances/rougher terrain much easier and much more enjoyable. I don’t know how. I don’t know why. But my friend found a server that someone made that has so many dinosaurs that don’t belong there. It’s on Valguero, but I found featherlights, Snow Owls in the red woods, and so many more, and I’m so happy

Thanks for the feedback - I try to pack in everything relevant I can think of in these videos but some things still slip through the cracks. Had I gone into further detail I would have received comments about "rambling" or not getting to the point fast enough, so there's never truly any winning. LOL

Excellent question! I didn't address this in the video, but yes you can use weaponry/tools while flying/gliding/parachuting.

nice video but I want to point out that reptile doesn't mean the animal is nessesary scaley and cold-blooded it just mean any animal that is in the Sauropsida clade. birds are also a type of reptile and to be more specific birds are theropod dinosaurs, Sinomacrops is a pterosaur a sister group to dinosaurs and they are known to have hair like filaments on them.

Rather than follow it around, before feeding it the first time, I built a mini cage around one with torches and put a top on the "cage" with some wooden signs. Then, I could feed it while it was stuck.
