Patrick, focus more on attacking your opponent's king. That pawn on h2 was screaming for you to put your queen behind your dark bishop! He had no defense for it. Bishop takes pawn, protected by your queen. His king is fully exposed. That's your main area you can imorove upon. Rather than attacking some pawn on the right side of the board, look at king attacks first. Merry Christmas!
Patrick, not sure how much competitive over-the-board you watch, my rating improved about 1000 points just by spending more time watching great players with intent, you'll get more out of it if there's commentary. I'd recommend content with Sagar from chess base india.
I must have missed some games...how did you get back down below 1450? I know that you are actually improving. I can see it in your game play, even if you lose. Chess is hard. If you are so inclined and since you are in the Bay, join a local chess club. Play OTB at least once a week. It is so much cooler than online and you will accelerate your learning with actual humans, not a machine. You can talk about different options and setups and work them through on the spot. Chess is a lifetime game - I have been playing for 40 years....and I am 48!
It really might be worth your time playing higher 1600 to 1800 opponents. They'll be much more of a learning experience than being slightly better or equal to mid 1400s. 2000 is a very long way away, the rating shown in the analysis isn't accurate at all.
The one time he doesn’t say: ahhh yes.. its a player he actually played before😂
Hahaha!!!
"Ahhhh, shit. A guy I played before...."
Haha thats cool 😁
So nervous you were going to get mated at the very end but you found the move that thwarted his attack. Well played.
Patrick's videos have become more than just random youtube videos. Watching him has become a tradition. Thank you for that!
Yes thats true for me. Morning coffee with chesswithpatrick is almost tradition for me 😇

Well played - perfect pace - GG!!
9:16 Qf3+ just appeared to win material after Rg2 Nb4 Be2 Nxc2 eventually winning the exchange
Great game Patrick. Sometimes you don't need to push for checkmate. Just winning a few pawns can be enough. Nice queen exchange at the end.
Thank you Stephen!!
Very well played. LFG Patrick!
2100 performance- mission completed
Good stuff Patrick

Lovely pin of the queen to lock it in!
Thanks Hunter!

Nice pawn grabbing
didn't he have queen takes F7 at the end there? wouldn't you be forced to move the king to H8 and then he mates with queen taking G7?
Queen was pinned
