Martin truly went down the wrong path when it started cheapening some of the product line, going down to and including making guitars with formica tops. Things I never want to see in a quality acoustic guitar: Synthetic materials in place of tonewoods. A total lack of any form of binding around the body at least. Plywood tops or backs. And I'm really not a fan of satin and flat finishes, either. But some people like that. When I think of a Martin I think of a traditional D-45, D-28, D-18, etc. A guitar that's built with pride, craftsmanship, and is as well made and beautiful as it can be at its price point.
I just wish Martin would figure out how to keep their binding from coming loose.
💯
