@@elmo2800 Illegal. Complex matter I can break down entirely for you but I suspect there's not enough interest to verify the claims I'd make and you'd probably start throwing around a bunch of labels and insults; but basically, Germany didn't start WW2 so the Allied invasion was completely unjustified and "illegal" as well.
Germany had a right to defend itself and demand autnomous sovereignty, just like anyone else.
The persecution of a specific religious group was brought upon themselves when Judea declared war on Germany on March 24th 1933, as reported by the NY Times and many other news outlets across the world, at that time. This was the first declaration of war in Europe since the end of WW1. Wikipedia claims it's a "conspiracy theory" but there's so many newspaper clippings with dates and everything, to support it.
      "But Germany invaded Poland!"
      - Yes, and Poles were massacring Germans by the thousands - 58.000 were brutally murdered in the summer of 1939 and 1.2 million Germans had been displaced from their homes, Danzig was under siege and entirely cut off from the rest of Germany.
Germany had a right to defend itself and to rescue its citizens now stuck in what had recently become Polish borders.
5 offers of de-escalation was offered by Germany but all rejected, at which Polish troops then fired upon German troops on German soil, at the end of August 1939.
That's when Adolf then held his speech where he declared they would respond "in the same language the Poles had spoken to them for so long; bomb will be met by bomb", on September 1st, 1939.
European history is my profession, hobby and passion. I'm not making these claims on a whim. It's verifiable data, although Wikipedia isn't a reliable source, but newspapers from this time, is.
(Unless it's Walter Duranty reporting on the Soviet famine created by the eradication of the Kulaks in Ukraine; he lied and downplayed it, reporting that it was all lies when in fact closer to 10 million people had already starved to death...)

As a citizen of Lithuania, a former soviet state, it angers me so much that Russian's security concerns are put on a pedestal over other former states. We are also sovereign nations, we also should have a right to decide what we want to join and to ally ourselves with. I am 24 im still young, but even in my own relatively short lifetime i noticed a huge economical growth and increase in quality of life compared to what it was before. A lot of it is because we decided to align ourselves with the west. Why Russia's security concerns can trump all other former soviet state's security concerns and right to self determination? Why other former soviet states that were not so lucky as Baltic states are robbed of this opportunity? What are they afraid of, when did we attacked them, fucked with their politics or did anything similar to what Russia did to us? If Russia wanted us to align with them more they should have offered something more for us to want that, but it did not. We just want to be left alone and not be treated like some chess piece for some other big nations to be fucked with and determine our future for us.

But since Merkel said herself, they lied and were not honest about minsk 1 and 2 accords and were doing them, just to "buy time" to arm ukraine even further or even get ukraine close to official nato membership... so yeah, neither party was willing or honest, but id say the russians were the ones who got fooled the most in it.

I believe Ukraine roughly translates to border lands so when historically people would say “the ukraine” they’re referring to the border tract of land separating more important players on the map and the people therefore in that region were viewed as negligible, the buffer zone is more important and always was. those inhabiting those areas were overlooked or put in between opposing sides. Ukrainians have been adept mercenaries throughout Europe’s history. Those who say just “Ukraine” is a way of taking back what’s theirs, their land, culture, heritage. An affirmation that it is not the border land, the buffer zone, rather it is their home.
