    unbeliebably great ,the slower tempo brings EVERYTHING OUT because if its too fast you lose the real beauty and interest of the quick changing colors of the harmony ,,berg s genius was that he was AN INCLUSIONARY ,,he saw the 12 tone method just as another great color ,,he NEVER rejected diatonic harmony ,,thats why his greatest music is still very popular today with contemporary music and traditional audiences ,,SO BEAUTIFULLY PLAYED

    Two giant intellects are revealed herein. Berg, for composing this monument to expressive atonalism, and Gould forbeing able to play it so revealingly.

      It is not atonal. It is tonal work in b minor. Very free tonality. Berg made a big trip though many many harmonies. It has still two # and at beginning and at the end you see nice b minor. Gould played it beautiful.

    This is great Bruce, thank you! I often wonder what Gould would think of these recordings being published.
    My feeling is he would not have approved.
