# 539 Abus Rk Monobloc.

- Just a simple breakdown of the Abus Monobloc for Rookie's curiosity. Comparatively pretty close to the Lockwood 290 Monobloc but with a price tag nearly 70% more expensive. Can't confirm the weight variation between the two but would hazard to guess the Abus on the heavier side. I stand to be corrected though. Impressive unit but the 290 isn't too far off comparatively so i would tend to go the 290 route due to the expense side of the equation. Happy to sacrifice 8 mm in length to save $60 plus.

Super nice locks there, mate! Helluva price on the 86Ti series!🤯😱 I love the Abus shutter lock, it looks well made compared to some other shutter locks I’ve seen. That is an awesome lock, thanks for going through how to gut this, that would have given someone a headache trying to figure it out. I think your right about Chris's padlock.. Maybe his is an older model?
@@RookieLock yes I think mine is the older model. It’s a bit fiddley to remove the core. Think they made the update model easer . Also , yes mine is offset.

The shackle will come out if you slide a shim down between the body and shackle
The bearings are a pain a bit of grease to hold them in place makes it easy
Don't think I have seen the 290 lockwood lol 😆

You can get the bolt out using a shim. I've seen LPL or Bosnian Bill do it years ago.

I can't see how thats possible if the cam is turned pushing the ball bearings into the valley of the bolt.
