CONSUMED: A DIY Alaskan Mountain Goat Hunt

"I have wanted to hunt mountain goats for as long as I can remember. I was lucky enough to be immersed into the hunting lifestyle at a young age. My dad is a hunting addict and he has created an adventure seeking wild man. I have been fascinated with challenges that require pain and suffering - both physically and mentally. My mind needs to be pushed to it's limits and a mountain goat hunt does just that."

Good job...and thanks for sharing your hunt...
If you do others like this in the future, in similar "high angle" terrain, I have found that taking a lite multi-pitch guide rack and basic rigging with a harness makes setting up shots and getting up/down the cliffs much faster and safer. With the newer 8mm "canyon rope" with a polyester mantel and "Dyneema" core you get supper lightweight rope that is stronger than steel cable. I would strongly recommend taking some basic rigging and climbing courses first if you haven't already. These skills will serve you well in the future adventures you are sure to have.
